8 / 10 - Heart&Slash
Feb 21, 2018

If you're looking for a hack and slash action release, and don't mind the extremely sensitive in-game camera and occasional game crash, then Heart and Slash might be what you're looking for. Hopefully, the game is soon patched so that it can offer a smoother experience for players! [Tracey separately reviewed the PS4 (8) and Switch (7) versions. Their scores have been averaged.]

8 / 10 - Xeodrifter
Feb 20, 2018

Xeodrifter was a lot of fun on Nintendo 3DS when I played it for the first time, and it was still a fun experience on Nintendo Switch – so much that I ended up playing the whole thing from start to finish over a couple of nights. Searching high and low as you unlock new skills to try and find the hidden health power-ups to increase my health bar and gun power-ups to customize my gun with faster bullets, more bullets, a wave beam style option and more is just as addictive as it was the first time, so if you haven't played this game be sure to pick it up today on Nintendo Switch.

8 / 10 - Marooners

We would have loved to have more options so that we could select the mini-games that are more fun and focus on those. We also think that the game could definitely benefit from some DLC so that more mini-games are available and thrown into the mix. The Chaos game modifier was a great feature, and we always used it to have more fun with this release.

9 / 10 - The Station
Feb 19, 2018

The Station is an excellent walking simulator on PlayStation 4 and a solid first release from a new studio. This release has a lot to offer, even if it's a short one. I liked my time with the game, and I look forward to seeing what the studio has to offer in a new story, hopefully on PlayStation 4.

I'm definitely a fan of puzzle games, and I liked what Link-a-Pix Color is doing on the Nintendo 3DS, bringing bite-sized and not so bite-sized puzzles developed by Conceptis Ltd for me to solve at home or on the go. I had a lot of fun with this new game from Lightwood Games, and, hopefully, we get a new game from them on Nintendo Switch soon.

Dynasty Warriors 9 is definitely a new start for the series and a big change to what we are used to playing in a Musou game. The new open world design completely changed how I approached the game, and I was thrilled to be done with the old menu system. Unfortunately, the graphics haven't changed much other than some visual improvements here and there. At the end of the day though I need to ask myself if I have had fun with the release, and the answer is a big yes. There are still things they can improve for the next entry in this long-running and beloved series, so here's hoping Dynasty Warriors 10 knocks it out of the park.

I had a lot of fun with Aegis Defenders. I really liked the action platforming elements of the game, but what surprised me the most were tower defense sections. Setting up my defenses and planning for an attack is very fun, creating a unique and cohesive experience I wasn't expecting. Play this game on PS4 right now since it has a lot of fun to offer.

The wait for The Fall Part 2: Unbound has been long, but I'm happy to report that it has definitely been worth it. It is a bigger and better game that improves on everything its prequel did before and then some. The only complaint I can find about this sequel is that the wait for the third episode in the series is going to be a long one and I want to see where the story ends.

The Longest Five Minutes condenses the overall JRPG experience into bite-sized chapters that are a joy to play. Going over your memories leading up to the final boss fight is a very interesting way of framing the way a JRPG would usually play while turning the whole thing upside-down and then turning it round and around, giving us a game that is a must-play on Nintendo Switch. This is a great game from NIS America, and I look forward to seeing what other quirky games they give us this year on Nintendo's hybrid console.

8 / 10 - Wulverblade
Feb 9, 2018

The two niggles I have about the game are that sometimes hit detection seems to be a tad off, and that items on the ground that are dropped by the enemies you defeat disappear too fast so you need to either focus on grabbing items as soon as they're dropped or on defeating all the enemies around you.

Aperion Cyberstorm is game with a concept that is simple and very accessible, with no overbearing menus to confuse players. The graphics are minimalist but present a colorful explosion on your screen once the action gets going. There is more than enough content for you to experience either on your own or with a bunch of friends, and you can even use AI controlled ships for your adventure if you need to. This is a solid indie release on Switch and one you need to play.

Puzzle Box Maker is a fun and varied package with several types of experiences to enjoy so that players of all ages and skill levels can have a go. The level creation tools are simple to use and allow you to build a ton of stages, greatly increasing the replay value of the game – and even more so when you add the potential for playing the hundreds of levels being created by players around the world. If you like colorful puzzle games, then you should give this one a go.

SteamWorld Dig is a game I have greatly enjoyed playing before in other consoles, and I was glad to get the chance to do it all over again on Nintendo Switch. If you've played the game before on other consoles then this is exactly the same game and it is just as addictive, but being able to play at home on the TV and take the adventure on the go in handheld and table top mode makes this the best version of the game.

Xenon Valkyrie+ is a game you're either going to love or hate. If you're a fan of the roguelike genre and favor hardcore platformers, then you'll feel right at home with this game. But if you're new to the genre and don't like replaying the same sections, even if the content is randomized during every new run, then this one isn't going to win you over.

Bloody Zombies is a fun beat ‘em up that pays homage to the classics while also doing its own thing. Being able to find new skills as you play and equipping them to find the right combination for each scenario is definitely fun, and being able to enjoy the game in single or multiplayer sessions is definitely appreciated. If you're looking for an enjoyable beat ‘em up on Switch, then be sure to give this one a try!

7 / 10 - Mecho Tales
Feb 1, 2018

Mecho Tales is a fun platformer that isn't without its faults, since I do think that the story could use a little more exposure. The aiming and shooting aren't perfect, but they're not a deal-breaker, so be sure to check this one out if you're looking for a platformer on Nintendo Switch to play at home or on the go in an afternoon or two.

8 / 10 - Super Hydorah
Jan 31, 2018

Super Hydorah is a solid tribute to old-school shoot ‘em up that also does its own thing to give us a great PS4 release you need to play. Older players who actually went to the arcade back in the 1980s are going to love this one, and those new to the genre are going to find a great 2D pixel shooter to keep them busy for many hours.

Ultimately Lost Grimoires 2: Shard of Mystery is not outstanding in any way, but it does not offend players either. It's just an average venture into the world of the hidden object genre that could have been a lot more.

Over six months after it's launch, I still play Everybody's Golf regularly as I slowly move towards unlocking a new Platinum trophy for my collection – It's everything I wanted it to be and a little more. Clap Hanz really outdid themselves on this title.
