I can't get enough of Remnant 2. When I'm not playing, I'm often thinking about new upgrade paths, character builds, and play styles to explore while adventuring through Remnant 2's engaging worlds.
In a world of jump scares and bland, YouTuber fodder, the game stands out. It isn’t necessarily because of the muppets or the fact that the main character is named Gordon as an homage to the Sesame Street character; it is because, as a full package, the game works.
While not perfect, the risks Square-Enix took with Final Fantasy XVI to focus this game on a genre completely different from many of its prior entries did manage to pay off in dividends.
The old champ has claimed the belt once more, and Street Fighter 6 is taking on all comers. Here comes a new challenger, and this one stands above all others.
Diablo 4 is a masterpiece. It's the culmination of decades of ARPG refinement and evolution, and it manages to pay homage to the IP's legendary namesake while successfully integrating modern RPG elements.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom brought childlike joy I never thought I could experience again, where it shows that when it comes to human ingenuity and creativity, the sky’s the limit. It is a true watershed moment of game design.
Cassette Beasts is a wonderful time. When it comes to monster capturing and fighting games, I'll take Cassette Beasts over anything else.
It is a testament to how good Jedi Survivor is as an overall package that, even though it had some technical deficiencies that can be seen as deterrents, it didn’t affect my enjoyment of what is one of the best Star Wars games in the modern era.
Redfall's compelling world-building and settings are inhibited by shallow mechanics and a lack of identity.
Dead Island 2's glorious zombie-slaying and humorous antics are sadly contrasted by repetitive missions and dull level design.
Minecraft Legends stays true to Minecraft's core principals while offering a truly unique PvP experience.
PGA Tour is an excellent return to form for the classic franchise. While it's a little rough around the edges and needs a few more options, it provides an honorable, realistic simulation of the sport that we've been missing for years.
The two sides of the game meld wonderfully together, while the fascinating world and story on offer serve up just enough to pull you along until the end.
You might know the original front and back but what Capcom offers here is a compelling sequel in the realm of horror. Resident Evil 4 is gripping from the beginning to the end.
If you are coming into this as a curious fan of the Souls series, there are a lot of commonalities that may be intriguing, but those are merely accents to what is truly a classic Team Ninja experience.
In the midst of that disappointment, Lightfall manages to pull through by being some of the most fun you can have with Destiny 2 in the places that have always actually mattered with this franchise.
Whether you play the classic style, overtaking your friends’ scores in the process, or you opt to set up or participate in a Tournament or Event showcase where you can earn a variety of customization items for your room in a season-style setup, you’ll be addicted to the flow of play, the sounds, the lights, and the effects.
If you allow yourself to become immersed in the gameplay of Wild Hearts and its systems, you’ll get much more out of it than you will initially realize. Because, for all of its irritations and faults, one thing Wild Hearts has in spades is, ironically, a lot of heart.
Hogwarts Legacy is one of the best surprises I’ve experienced in some time. Despite being a muggle through and through, it fully engrossed me in its world and filled me with a child-like charm that I haven’t felt from any other recently released game.
“Metroid Prime Remastered” is a perfect reminder of the ways that Nintendo helped to shape the industry, but it’s also a reflection that sheds light on a greater creative void from Nintendo since that original 2002 release.
