M3's Reviews

Two amazing action games make their way to the Nintendo Switch - and they're just as good as before. However, we really wish there was some kind of graphical improvements compared to the Wii U versions, even though the improved framerate in docked mode is worth a lot.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is ambitious and deep, but also feels a bit out dated on the technical side.

7 / 10 - Fe

A truly beautiful platformer, that doesn't quite reach its fully potential – mainly due to a sometimes confusing level design.

Some sluggish controls aside, Darkest Dungeon is as good as it ever has been. One of the most rewarding (and frustrating) adventure games in a long time.

Shadow of the Colossus was a unique game back in 2006, and it still is. Bluepoint has done a remarkable job with the graphics, and added some really nice extra features on top of that. Easily the best remake in years.

Monster Hunter World isn't the perfect game in any way, but it's a great first step for those who haven't played this series before. And with plenty of new content, deep mechanics and a beautiful world it will not disappoint the hardcore-fans either.

This time the game does justice to the license it's based on. Intense gameplay with fluid controls and over the top presentation makes this gem one of the best comic based fighting games out there.

7 / 10 - A Hat in Time
Jan 7, 2018

A Hat in Time is a love-letter to the platform genre of the 90's. It's far from as perfect as Super Mario Odyssey, but it manage to be both charming and entertaining – and is almost a must-play for those who have grown up with this type of games.

While being the definitive Sun and Moon experiences, it's still lacking enough new locations to warrant the full price. We do enjoy the new Pokémon and the small enhancements that makes the games more pleasant.

8 / 10 - Rocket League

Rocket League is one of the most addictive multiplayer game you will ever play, with deep mechanics and a great community. The Switch version works really well.

The lack of mods is a let down, and the graphics feels a bit outdated, but Skyrim is still a masterpiece six years after the original release.

5 / 10 - Sonic Forces
Nov 16, 2017

Sonic Forces is the latest edition of games starring our beloved blue, hyperactive hedgehog. This time we get to fight the evil Eggman as three characters; Sonic, Sonic from another dimension and Rookie – your own, personalized avatar. Does this new Sonic-game live up to the unfamtomably popular, early games? We think not.

For those deep into to the series, Football Manager 2018 brings several upgrades to the table. They might not work flawlessly as of yet, but do sure show great potential. The somewhat clunky UI and feature-fest might feel intimidating for new and old players alike, though.

If you want to play Doom on a big screen, this version is the worst choice by far. If you on the other hand prefer to kill demons on the bus, Doom for Nintendo Switch is a great choice. Despite some very noticeable cutbacks the core of Doom is still there - and it's thoroughly enjoyable.

Star Wars Battlefront is back and EA has switched an expensive season pass for a ludicrous microtransaction system. The game sure does look and sound good and the gameplay is somewhat nice but it doesn't respect the players time and the much hyped single-player-campaing is undercooked to say the least.

Like the so-called reboot from 2015, Need for Speed Payback is better and more fun than it really should be. In fact, Ghost Games latest creation is the most entertaining Need for Speed game for many years, making it an extra pity that the final polish is missing.

Call of Duty WWII is in the middle of an identity crisis, but by going back to its roots, it has created slower and more tactical gameplay that is much more fun to play than the wall running and double jumping from the last few installments.

With Origins Assassin's Creed is better looking and bigger than ever, but the series still has a long way to go in things like story telling and mission design.
