Jotun: Valhalla Edition may not be the longest game, but at a nice $15 price for a solid 5-hour experience, it's more than recommended. If you've played it before on other platforms, it may not do much new that begs you to buy it again, but if you're looking for an excellent adventure on the Switch you could do a whole lot worse.

Lucky is adorable and his world is full of wonder, but the lack of diverse controller options along with poor camera handling make this game less than excellent.

8.2 / 10.0 - The Swords of Ditto
Apr 12, 2018

At the end of the day, Sword of Ditto is a fun ARPG with a few issues. The roguelike elements are actually handled really well with this title allowing guys like me that are both terrible at and frustrated with the concept, the opportunity to enjoy the genre. Combat and progression work well and in the case of the latter allows each playthrough to feel like you have accomplished something. Its issues of repetitive combat and odd looting problems do hold it back from being truly amazing but Sword of Ditto is a solid offering that pulls on the nostalgic heartstrings of my youth with its legend of Zelda inspirations and superb handling of the roguelike mechanics.

If you missed out on the Wii U Hyrule Warriors, I'd more than suggest buying the Definitive Edition here on Switch. Not only is it one of the best Warriors spin-offs to date, but chances are you're a Zelda fan if you own the Switch and it's just a great spinoff of Link's adventures altogether. Can it get repetitive? Sure, but that's the nature of Action RPGs like this – Warriors games are essentially 3rd-Person Diablos without the loot hunt. Playing coop is a joy, the Adventure Mode is an awesome addition, and raising your own fairy is surprisingly cute and meaningful. With all the content on display, it's worth the full price of entry.

7 / 10.0 - Tower of Time
Apr 12, 2018

Tower of time is one of those games that does a lot of things well, doesn't do anything poorly, but unfortunately has a few things that are just average or don't fit the style of the game.

8.5 / 10.0 - Robocraft Infinity
Apr 12, 2018

Robocraft Infinity has released recently and continues to show its great game status with each and every playthrough on it. The game comes in with a low price tag, 19.99 USD for the base version of the game with a Deluxe and Ultimate bundle available for sale as well. The game is fun and the graphics are very good while playing on the Xbox One X. It comes in with 4k enhanced gameplay for the ultimate bot building and duelling experience.

7.5 / 10.0 - BattleTech
Apr 12, 2018

Overall I think it's a good game.  Especially if you're a BattleTech / Mechwarrior fan.  Is it worth the price tag?  Yes.  Can it improve substantially?  Oh yes!  A few more features and a better story will make the world of a difference.  For being an strategy game, I give it a thumbs up.  Great gameplay, great soundtrack.  Here's to hoping they do the game justice in the long run!

8.5 / 10.0 - Light Fall
Apr 12, 2018

This game performs well as a 2D platformer. It feels like a mix of Mario Brothers and Sonic the Hedgehog with the Shadow Core feature added into it. With your friend Stryx, you will attempt to save the dark world of Numbra from whatever comes your way. You will lose yourself in hours of gameplay and platformer fun.

Guns of Icarus Alliance is a great, fast paced, airship battling game where you take control of a steampunk ship and get a crew of 4. I personally found the battling in this to be fun and had a little bit longer time with the learning curve of how to fix the ship. Outside of that it is a very fun game.

5.5 / 10.0 - Subaeria
Apr 12, 2018

Subaeria is a title that has loads of potential but suffers from a mix of poorly implemented roguelite mechanics and bugs. At present ,it's not a title I can wholeheartedly recommend. However ,the issues mentioned can be patched out and hopefully soon as Subaeria has the potential to be a great action puzzler.

Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux is now available for purchase on your 3DS for the cost of 39.99. A small price to pay for a role-playing game that will give you hours of enjoyment. Starship Corporation is a mixed bag. The learning curve on shipbuilding is steep but well worth the time to master. The mission simulator is fun at first but becomes repetitious and predictable after a short while. The galaxy map and turn-based empire builder portion of the game lowers the overall quality and experience of the game, and dropping it completely would have garnered a higher review score. It is obvious Starship Corporation is a labor of love. There are some definite flaws in the game, but while many games feel like a cash grab, you could tell the developer was doing the best they could. It would be great to see a bigger developer jump on board and give this game the resources and polish it deserves in a version 2.0.

At the end of the day Space Hulk: Deathwing Enhanced Edition feels like a fairly solid addition to the Warhammer 40k Universe. Its setting and visuals offer a great look at the dark gritty universe and the deliberate choices in combat mechanics will make you feel like a Space Marine. However, those same choices will definitely be a turn off to a lot of FPS players and when coupled with some awkward AI it's safe to say this title won't be for everyone.

If the price drops to around the $20 mark, this title would be a quirky gem. As it stands, the cost of entry and the lack of true depth to Penny-Punching Princess make it a hard game to recommend to anyone. As it stands, it’s just not a very good time to be had. The price, combined with the repetitive nature and lack of level design make it a resounding “meh” of a game. It feels like it was meant for the 3DS, and was quickly ported to the Switch to cash in, and that’s not a good thing.

9 / 10.0 - Masters of Anima
Apr 10, 2018

In this humble reviewer's opinion, this game is worth more than 19.99 and is a steal for someone who likes an adventure with unique and intuitive gaming controls. Join others around the world as they learn to control their guardians in groups of up to one hundred units while you destroy the Golems and defeat Zahr. The world of Spark awaits you.

8 / 10.0 - Extinction
Apr 10, 2018

Extinction is a great game, though patience can be required at times. Running around and blowing through enemies is fun, and the cartoony, mostly polished gameplay could be an incredible game after a few patches. As it is, it is still a blast to play, interrupted by quick frustrations that come from missed attacks that can completely stop an assault. If you are looking for a hectic hack-n-slash boss fighting game, Extinction is absolutely worth picking up. Those who can be quickly frustrated from bugs, however, may want to wait for a couple of patches.

8 / 10.0 - A Way Out

A Way Out follows the story of Vincent and Leo from when they meet in prison through their ensuing escape and the consequences of the choices they jointly make. It’s an interesting and engaging journey which occasionally falls a bit flat in certain aspects.
