PSX Brasil's Reviews

May 19, 2024

Fast and objective, Musashi vs Cthulhu doesn't bring any contextualization that justifies the meeting of these two worlds. But it compensates for its narrative disinterest with an addictive, sharp and very precise gameplay in search of that extra point in the world rankings or the personal satisfaction of having gone a little further.

45 / 100 - Pool Party
May 16, 2024

Pool Party makes its apparent innocence a crutch for the poverty of ideas and, mainly, for the lack of affection in its implementation. It's even possible to have fun for a few moments, but only when players allow themselves to suspend their critical sense in favor of an uncompromising family mess.

Read Only Memories: NEURODIVER is a great narrative game with very interesting themes and an engaging story, driven by both its creative themes and captivating characters that bring the Neo-San Francisco universe back to life.

PAC-MAN, the classic, is impeccable. Adding multiplayer concepts through the prism of Battle Royale is a great idea. However, PAC-MAN Mega Tunnel Battle: Chomp Champs proves that not even this mix has a guarantee of success if you don't take care of the content offered. Without a life of its own, the tribute is a nice memory, but it doesn't go much further than that.

80 / 100 - Sea of Thieves
May 10, 2024

Sea of Thieves is a nice addition to the PlayStation multiplayer game catalogue around the world. The game itself will benefit from an increase in the user base and more interested in Rare's multiplayer proposition. Although it never delves into any aspect of what it proposes and is not an unpleasant experience for the solo player, the magic of cooperative and the freedom to enjoy the game without too much commitment are the great attractions in a new world of piracy.

The adventures of the hermit crab Kril mark an important episode not only for Aggro Crab, but for the soulslike genre as a whole – even if it suffers from a few stumbles along the way.

85 / 100 - Animal Well
May 9, 2024

Animal Well is stunning and mysterious, a visual treat that offers open-ended and thought-provoking exploration. The total lack of explanations may put off part of the audience, but those who are willing to see how deep the iceberg, or rather the pit, goes, will have a lot to enjoy in this surrealist metroidvania.

85 / 100 - Mystic Pillars
May 8, 2024

Culturally relevant and provocative in its gameplay, Mystic Pillars is one of those games that, drinking from great references, finds in simplicity its element of interest. It may not be thought-provoking enough for certain player profiles, but those interested in a good puzzle will certainly have a great time.

More than fifteen years later, the Class of Heroes franchise shows resilience, even though, by re-releasing old games and not moving forward with new games, it also shows its age.

The Forgotten Kingdom does exactly what it sets out to do: expand the previously existing world of Yaesha with new areas, bosses, and equipment. It certainly warrants a return to the excellent Remnant II to check out.

75 / 100 - Gray Dawn
May 1, 2024

A middle ground between a point-and-click adventure and a walk simulator, Gray Dawn is intriguing and uses the religious theme well to sustain a good supernatural suspense, but it lacks boldness in puzzles and mechanics, in addition to its usability being unresponsive.

95 / 100 - Grounded
Apr 29, 2024

With stunning settings and an intriguing story centered around cowering teenagers searching for answers, Grounded mixes adventure, survival, and base-building. While facing a variety of enemies and challenges, players can explore the world solo or with up to three friends in multiplayer. However, the lack of clarity about the next steps of the story and the need for complex items can be challenging for some players, although fun is guaranteed, especially in multiplayer mode.

The Rising Tide is a great expansion of Final Fantasy XVI. The battle with Leviathan is sensational and the whole plot involved is very good to follow. Kairos' Gate is a fun challenge format, too. The only problem is the length of the DLC itself: it's quite short.

65 / 100 - OTXO
Apr 25, 2024

OTXO is a fun game and the roguelike mix generates a huge replayability, but at the cost of a polish of the experience previously seen in its inspirations.

90 / 100 - Stellar Blade
Apr 24, 2024

Stellar Blade is a great action game with an interesting story. It's challenging in just the right amount and its content is varied enough to keep the player entertained. However, certain combat mechanics need some tweaking. In addition, the main campaign is somewhat short, and can be finished in about 10 to 15 hours (the parallel content compensates for the situation, being able to double this number).

SaGa Emerald Beyond is another good step for the series, evolving the ideas seen in its predecessor and delivering a fun RPG based on freedom and challenge. A few stumbles prevent it from being even more memorable, but it's a game that will please both fans of the series and curious newcomers.

65 / 100 - Sand Land
Apr 24, 2024

SAND LAND has its merits in respecting and expanding the original work of the legendary Akira Toriyama. But when it comes to narrative and design, it fails in combat and exploration systems: as generic and uninteresting as a desert full of sand and... more sand.

75 / 100 - Top Spin 2K25
Apr 23, 2024

TopSpin 2K25 is the long-awaited return from one of the most acclaimed brands in the sport and brings with it some of the best qualities that made it so beloved years ago. Still, it seems ungreedy in terms of visuals and, especially, in the amount of content offered, making simplicity its great asset and, at the same time, its greatest limiter.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade: Wrath of the Mutants takes inspiration from one of the genre's greatest classics, but fails to attempt to modernize the experience with its shallow gameplay and presentation. The result is a weak and repetitive game, even with its short duration.

Lunar Lander Beyond is a great example of how to modernize a classic game from the early days of video games without, however, detracting from its essence. With great controls, an art style full of identity and originality of purpose, the game surprises, entertains and addicts... Very much.
