Far Cry 6 seems to check all the boxes for a traditional Far Cry experience, and that's exactly what it delivers, for better or worse. An excellent and intimidating villain? Check. An immersive and beautiful open world? Check. Fun gameplay that sometimes goes over-the-top? Check.
I hate and love everything Naughty Dog and its developers make me feel through this game. I still love every second of it. It goes without saying that if you have not played The Last of Us before, well there should be no question about whether you should pick this up.
The Saints Row reboot perfectly embodies what a video game like this should be - fun, chaotic and over-the-top all while reigning itself in just enough so that it doesn’t become nonsensical and a parody of itself.
Sonic Origins banks too much on nostalgia. The games are functional and are enjoyable as always but the glitches introduced to Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 & Knuckles with regards to Tails are annoying. Sonic 3’s soundtrack being changed so drastically feels incredibly disappointing too.
Mario Strikers: Battle League is more than just the Mario Kart equivalent of a soccer game. Next Level Games has showcased its talent through its amazing attention to detail and giving us a worthy sequel to its beloved franchise.
It may not scale the ambitious heights of Until Dawn and House of Ashes - or really give you complete agency like those either - but it serves as another winning entry in the developer's growing list of solid horror gaming experiences that shouldn't be missed.

MotoGP 22 is a passable step forward for MotoGP fans, with ‘Nine: Season 2009’ being the absolute highlight of the package and almost reason enough to pick it up. Most longstanding fans of the series will undoubtedly fork out for this one, but I am not sure I can recommend it to anyone that already dabbled in the brilliant MotoGP 21.
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is a great game for those looking to experience something lighthearted and fun and is definitely a must for Borderlands fans.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga crams a plethora of content into one almost definitive LEGO Star Wars package that's perfect for gamers and fans of all ages. The comedy is once again top-notch, the gameplay improvements make a huge difference, and the attention to detail in recreating Star Wars' most iconic locations, moments and characters is commendable.
Tango Gameworks deliver a highly original concept with an eerie setting, well-written main characters in KK and Akito and spell-based gameplay that bursts with vibrant colours and energy.
MyRise is fantastic, the character creation is meme-worthy world-class, and the improved gameplay mechanics align it with modern fighting games. However, it's a good taste of what's possible if the series doesn't stick to a yearly release schedule.
It’s a meaty affair with a brilliantly told, political escapade which not only takes you along for the ride, but places you as a pivotal player in the overall outcome of its enigma. The battle and story sections are wonderfully compartmentalised into chapters that for the first time ever on a Switch game I didn’t feel as though my hands were going to fold in from those dreadful joy-con controllers.

However, the lacklustre variety and less than desirable controller feel keep making me ask myself the same question. Why not just buy Gran Turismo 7?
