Quest of Dungeons is an indie darling that does justice by the roguelike genre and makes it more accessible for Xbox One players. It's unbelievably charming cast will have you venturing and dying in the dungeons time and time again.

9 / 10.0 - SOMA
Dec 15, 2017

'Thought provoking' may be the best way to describe my overall experience with SOMA. With the story being expertly delivered through eloquent voice acting and dialogue, environmental design, and questionable moral choices. SOMA stands out as a deft lesson in storytelling, which many developers should learn from. I'd highly recommend trying SOMA for anyone and everyone.

9 / 10.0 - Cuphead
Oct 6, 2017

If you don’t mind a high difficulty level and putting the time to master parrying then Cuphead is a game that you are going to thoroughly enjoy, from the artwork, music and sense of relief when you finally get shot of that boss that’s been giving you hassle for days.

I’d have to say, I never expected to enjoy Mankind Divided as much as I did. I had my reservations since playing Human Revolution with its less than stellar animations and horrendous boss fights. I was expecting much of the same and I’m glad I was wrong. With a sprawling hub environment at its heart, Mankind Divided has plenty of off beaten paths to lose countless hours on.

The Witch and the Hundred Knight: Revival Edition is unreasonably fun with a truly interesting story and cathartic gameplay with enough spice to make you consider the best option for every scenario.

9 / 10.0 - Firewatch
Feb 10, 2016

It's odd to think that in game in which you never meet any real humans face to face that you never feel alone, and that's part of the magic of Firewatch. Firewatch is a must have for all PS4 owners.

9 / 10.0 - Firewatch
Sep 22, 2016

I knew within five minutes that Firewatch was special. And, whilst the game itself isn't mechanically perfect, it didn't have to be. By the end of it, it had emotionally affected me in a way that perhaps no other game has.

The Flame in the Flood is a fantastic survival game with an equally fantastic score and art style that will challenge your decision making and patience to within an inch of its life - in a good way. There is plenty of replay value to be had as you won't find everything there is to uncover in the first few playthroughs.

9 / 10.0 - LawBreakers

Ultimately, what sets LawBreakers aside from its competitors in a very crowded genre is its ability to create moments.

9 / 10.0 - F1 2016
Aug 26, 2016

F1 2016 is fantastic and is the provisional pole sitter of the series. One for every F1 fan and a definite must have for the racer in your life. Being able to battle against 21 other real life opponents, not just in a single race but in a full season, is a whole different formula for the F1 series. It's an experience we have been yearning for over the past few years and welcome changes add depth with reducing the entry level.

9 / 10.0 - Worms W.M.D
Aug 21, 2016

Worms W.M.D has been an absolute blast. Removing the 3D and physics based ideas that its lesser cousins had endowed and bringing back the 2D over-the-top carnage was what Worms needed to revitalise the franchise.

9 / 10.0 - Chime Sharp

If you’re a fan of Tetris, then Chime Sharp is definitely the game for you. The music, as well as having an aim to each mode, will be an added bonus.

9 / 10.0 - Nioh
Feb 20, 2017

Nioh offers up a substantial amount of content, with a ton of levels, New Game+  and some “Twilight Missions". Twilight Missions are revamped levels with better loot drops rates that rotate daily giving players even more content to undertake, but they are currently limited to a select few missions. There is an overwhelming amount of things to do. Some gameplay mechanics may hinder your play style and ultimately get you killed, but nevertheless you could opt not to implement them into your approach.

9 / 10.0 - Nier: Automata
Mar 3, 2017

NieR: Automata is an utterly fantastic title. It has some definite flaws, but these flaws just disappear into the background as you get deeper and more immersed in the experience. It’s hard-hitting and poignant, and provides a polished action-JRPG combat in an underwhelming series that really needed it.

9 / 10.0 - Yooka Laylee
Apr 3, 2017

I can’t speak for how Yooka-Laylee compares to what veteran fans would expect, but as some who loved his fair share of older generation of platformers, Yooka-Laylee is the game the genre needs.

Narratively, the goal of Stormblood was to create change for the better. In reality, the developers ultimately succeeded in this same goal. Going forward, it’ll be interesting to see how this is reflected in the upcoming content patches that will further build on what the expansion is seeking to achieve.

It’s safe to say that there is a lot included in Victor Vran: Overkill Edition. Whether you’re playing through the story solo or with a friend, there is plenty to keep you occupied. Even if you don’t get around to doing very little thing, there’s well over 50 hours of gameplay here if you're determined to stick around.

9 / 10.0 - Absolver
Sep 5, 2017

Without any connection issues, Absolver sings as one of the most promising indie titles this year. There is so much to do and the variety of different attacks on display is astounding; it might take some time to unlock them by fighting others, but it is time well invested. It might only have 3 basic Styles, but you can make the complex and pay homage to some of your favourite martial artists with a variety of form defining attacks, like massive flying knees, low sweeps, or spinning backfists.

9 / 10.0 - Sonic Mania
Aug 18, 2017

The fantastic stage design, gorgeous visuals and inspiring music of the early Sonic games have been brilliantly translated, with all the new additions seamlessly gelling with the old. Mania is an absolute must for any self-proclaimed Sonic fan and ranks high even just as a platformer in this generations of consoles. The blue blur has truly returned to his former glory.

9 / 10.0 - FIFA 18

FIFA 18 is yet another strong addition to the long-running series. With another powerful season of The Journey, some vastly improved skill games, and the return of fan favourite Ultimate Team, FIFA 18 is a welcome step forwards in the saga of the Beautiful Game.
