7.8 / 10.0 - 911 Operator
Mar 18, 2017

The gameplay mechanics and overall design of 911 Operator both made it a hugely enjoyable experience for me. Initially, I shrugged off this game as being one of those janky simulator games that you really need to be an enthusiast to fully appreciate. I was completely wrong. I’ve spent a good twelve hours on this game over the course of this week and loved every moment of it. The game is well worth the $14.99 price tag, even for those who don’t usually like the simulator genre.

LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2 is, without a doubt, a fantastic children’s game, easily worth the price for any young fan of recent Marvel movies.

With the season ramping up in tempo and the story really tethering off towards a conclusion, Guardians of the Galaxy is really turning into one of Telltale’s best series’ to date.

7.8 / 10.0 - Battle Chef Brigade
Nov 27, 2017

For a five or six hour experience, Battle Chef Brigade is a welcome addition to most people’s library, and it was nice to see a development studio take risks by combining a couple of genres in such a way.

7.8 / 10.0 - Duck Season
Nov 29, 2017

I was expecting nothing more than a trip down memory lane, I found a lot more to Duck Season. Not only is it fun to play but its design standards make it a VR game of note. I highly recommend the game.

The end of the episode does lend itself to a second season coming out, with a mysterious figure finding Thanos’ body. I hope this does lead onto a second season as I found Telltale’s Guardians of the Galaxy to be one of my favourites. Episode 5 does have a slight premature ending, but ultimately rounds off the season pretty well.

Picking right up where we left off in episode 2, with more important choices to make. More Than a Feeling sets up the rest of the season for high hopes, and we cannot wait to see what's in store.

Origins is a great game, it has a compelling story with attractive graphics and impressive environments; however this comes at a cost due to the high graphical demand of the game. Ubisoft has clearly tried to expand into new territories with Origins and it works in their favour.

7.5 / 10.0 - Super Lucky's Tale
Dec 10, 2017

Super Lucky's Tale is designed for a very particular audience and for a very particular purpose, and manages to pull that off with flair - but it'll alienate anyone outside of that.

7.4 / 10.0 - Destiny 2

Slightly underwhelmed, but still a classy shooter that will be made 100% better if played with friends. Future content will make or break the longevity of Destiny 2 though.

7.4 / 10.0 - DEATHPIT 3000
Dec 12, 2017

DEATHPIT 3000 is a fun top down coop arcade shooter, it’s good at what it tries to do. Minor issues such as the soundtrack, the lack of online play and gamepad support but those have their own workarounds anyway, so I’d still recommend it especially for the price.

7.1 / 10.0 - SteamWorld Dig 2

The fans of the first game may be miffed at some design choices, but the overall design makes all nitpicks easy to overlook for an enjoyable grind.

Good. Despite a barebones listing of modes and forgettable singleplayer content, Legends satisfies both newcomers and veterans alike, and the core game offers enough twists on the formula to stand out from the competition.

7 / 10.0 - Distrust
Oct 13, 2017

All in all, Distrust is a fun, engaging, satisfying game, as long as it’s played in short bursts; and the amount of characters for you to choose from allows for decent replay value, with many interesting strategies and combinations. Though, without much challenge outside of RNG, and without the amazing monster designs of the film from which it’s based, it can hard to recommend, unless you’re a true fan of the genre. It took a lot from John Carpenter’s The Thing, bringing all the best aspects of the horror classic into its style and atmosphere, but could have stood to take a bit more, at least to shore up its shockingly lackluster enemy design, and uninteresting plot twist.

7 / 10.0 - High Hell
Nov 11, 2017

High Hell has things going for it. But ultimately it's a lukewarm experience with unambitious, underwhelming mechanics delivered in an admittedly fast paced and well presented package. A striking art style and a sense of humour can carry you, turns out.

6.9 / 10.0 - Emily is Away Too
May 26, 2017

For the price of a Starbucks coffee, you are getting an interesting story which may tug on your heart strings, the nostalgia hit is strong from the aesthetic of the MSN window, and multiple endings make replayability a factor too. I would still suggest you try out the first game before purchasing the sequel, just to see if you like the format, and if you do, then you’ll be set up for nicely for the second game.

Enemy Within’s first episode has done a great job at drawing me into the series, and it has left me wanting more straight away. The emotional attachment that grew from the roots of the first game has definitely helped, but we cannot wait to jump into Episode 2 right away!

6.9 / 10.0 - Hello Neighbor
Dec 13, 2017

Hello Neighbor tries to offer a unique stealth horror experience unlike any other, and in my opinion, does it well. There are issues such as the difficulty of the puzzles and the physics engine but overall a great game worth your time. I’d recommend it even if you’re not a fan of horror games.
