All in all, RollerCoaster Tycoon Adventures is not worth buying. The gameplay isn't fun enough to keep you hooked, and every time I came back to it I left disappointed.

Puzzle Bobble is a habit-forming game to be sure. Actually, that's probably an understatement. This arcade original launched a series that continues to keep me addicted to this day.

Whether or not it is your first time playing or the tenth time, Grim Fandango Remastered still seems enjoyable and holds up over all these years. Although there are a few complaints here and there they are minor and shouldn't be held too much against the title. The overall story is a rewarding experience that should not be missed.

I found Katamari Damacy REROLL to be much more frustrating than fun. It lacks modern fundamentals like a good camera and intuitive control, made worse by ill-fitting time restrictions. It's a very repetitive game too, one that I really couldn't play for more than two levels at any given time. A minor HD coat of paint can't compensate here. I suspect Katamari Damacy, though a hit with most critics, will remain a sleeper of a game amongst players, even on Nintendo Switch.

Sundered: Eldritch Edition is a great platformer packed with plenty of action and adventure. With its beautiful graphics and smooth controls, this is a game you don't want to miss out on.

If you're the type of gamer who appreciates a mix of little-known games and classics that paved the way for better versions, Atari Flashback Classics might be up your alley. Even if you've played a good number of these games so many times already, having them in handheld form is something. With a small selection of achievements and leaderboards, this collection has replayability too.

7 / 10.0 - Solar Flux

All the elements in Solar Flux combine for an attractive, calming, challenging, physics-based puzzler.

4.5 / 10.0 - Shadow of Loot Box
Dec 29, 2018

Shadow of Loot Box is meant to be a parody of everything that's annoying about gaming tropes. Unfortunately, the humor is little more than sprinkling every single undesirable gaming element into one game, missing the mark and creating something less than fun.

5 / 10.0 - INSTANT TENNIS

I had some early fun with INSTANT TENNIS, but it wasn't long before it left me wanting more. It isn't a bad game per se, but it definitely doesn't have enough to keep me playing. .

9 / 10.0 - Warframe
Dec 28, 2018

Fortnite won't be the only free-to-play game hogging your time on the Nintendo Switch. Panic Button's port of Warframe sings, despite the obvious technical limitations that Nintendo consoles typically suffer from. If you're hungry for a space-marine stealth shooter that you can play with pals, Warframe is your best (and perhaps only) bet on the Nintendo eShop.

6 / 10.0 - I Am The Hero
Dec 28, 2018

I Am The Hero is love letter to classic brawlers, though it's not as good as those of yesteryear. It lacks a story and it's over too quickly, but it could scratch that fighter itch if you're looking to kill a few hours.

Omensight takes a lot of familiar fantasy concepts and mashes them together into a dark and interesting apocalyptic mystery.

5 / 10.0 - Desert Child
Dec 28, 2018

Desert Child is one of those “love-it-or-hate-it” titles. On one hand, it's got a great soundtrack and excellent visuals. On the other, its gameplay is dull and repetitive. Be sure you know what you're getting into with this one.

The storytelling is where WILL: A Wonderful World shines best, especially when multiple character's stories begin to overlap, showing the same scenes, but from different perspectives.

Mercenaries Wings: The False Phoenix is good, but it falls short of being great. Still, it's a perfectly serviceable title sure to scratch the itch for those waiting for another Final Fantasy Tactics.

Overall, Toast Time: Smash Up! is a disappointment despite it trying to be charming with its puns and style. I also would say that it is not worth its current price of $9.99. You are better off getting a game with more control and content for that value.

6 / 10.0 - Koloro
Dec 27, 2018

If I see more of Koloro, I hope it's in smaller doses. Having co-op as an option for all of the levels would further increase appeal. The Nintendo Switch has many puzzle platformers, so Koloro might be one for fans to wish list. Content isn't an issue here though, as there's plenty to play so long as your interest is held. Just be prepared for a bloated, largely linear, and often tough go at it.

Mother Russia Bleeds is a unique beat 'em up with some clever ideas at work. This title falls short of realizing them due to, framerate issues and some childish plot devices.

At only $9.99, Sky Force Anniversary is a fantastic bargain on the Nintendo Switch. It may be a “re-creation” of a nearly 15-year-old game, but it looks and plays like it was custom made for this generation's systems. It may be a bit too easy for hardcore STG fans, but that just means those of us who want some frenetic arcade action gaming without feeling totally powerless are going to keep coming back to Sky Force Anniversary for dozens of entertaining hours.

7 / 10.0 - 99Vidas
Dec 26, 2018

Not hugely unique but definitely engaging, 99 Vidas is an excellent tribute to side-scrollers, brawlers and some of the past three decades' standout games.
