Ready or Not is not only a near-perfect video game, but one that advances the medium in a way that no game has before.
It's taken a couple of decades, but Baldur's Gate finally has a worthy sequel. While the sandbox it promises proves to be cunning legerdemain and the main story descends into another generic hero's journey, the richness of your party and the side quests you encounter will keep you engaged for literally hundreds of hours.
Booze Masters: Freezing Moonshine is outlandish to say the least, but that doesn't stop it from being a great game that will absolutely make you want to try your hand at making some moonshine of your own.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III (2023)'s campaign is comically bad, its Zombies mode is zonked and its multiplayer just kind of sucks.

Football Manager 2024 is a fitting end to this cycle of the series. However, it is showing its age in its current guise. Next year will be telling, but until then, especially if you've not played in a while, Football Manager 2024 is a great way to celebrate 20 years.
Spider-Man 2 is certainly bigger, but that comes at the cost of pacing. Miles Morales remains the tightest, leanest and best entry in the series, but there's no denying that this full sequel to the 2018 hit is a visual treat.
Party Packs are nothing if not entertaining, but the tenth instalment only has a couple of titles that you're likely to return to. Some players will enjoy this more than others, but it's hard to recommend it over earlier packs in the series.
Underground Blossom is another solid entry in Rusty Lake's cult series, with a much more accessible story, great music, and some interesting puzzles.
A fun arcade racer with lots of variety but one which often confuses and feels decent, rather than brilliant when moving at top speeds.
Payday 3, while having a decent play loop, is a direct downgrade from its predecessor and is loaded with anti-consumer mechanics and major technical issues.
Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty, and its accompanying Update 2.0, is an exceptional addition to what is already an exceptional game.
This isn't an instant classic, but fans of the series will no doubt enjoy stepping into Drummer's shoes in her time before the show. It's an assured first outing for a studio brought back from the dead and will no doubt give confidence to the studio and fans alike.
Whilst Cyanide have created a faithful reproduction of the great race, what it brings to the table can hardly be differentiated from the previous versions. Niche as this title may be, I suspect only the absolute die-hards will be picking this one up.
Torn Away, with its gut wrenching narrative and beautifully grim graphics, is the new gold standard for visual novel-based video games.
FromSoftware games are an event and this one is no exception. Great fun, chaotic until tamed and thoroughly moreish. You'll find a lot to like if you're into high-quality action.
We're one episode away from completing Telltale Games' first game back since its death and rebirth. It's woven an intriguing story that I'm keen on completing; let's just hope they'll stick the landing.
Starfield is not only the best RPG since 2010's Fallout New Vegas, but one of the best video games ever made.
With only two more episodes to go to complete its story, Telltale shows it can still spin a good yarn. If it can competently wrap up the story threads, everyone involved should get a well deserved pat on the back and extra credits on shore leave.
