The Snake King replicates the classic gameplay loop of Snake while altering the formula. Instead of the classic Snake gameplay, The Snake King features one hundred and fifty levels where you maneuver through obstacles and collect apples. Collecting every apple will spark joy in players as they traverse the five worlds.
Supermassive Games made a name for themselves with Until Dawn, the PS4 exclusive horror game that was inspired by classic slasher films and their cliches/tropes. It was loved by both critics and players alike, compelling the developers to start work on an anthology of games that would continue its legacy. The first of these games, Man of Medan, was a solid adventure, but could not recapture what made its predecessor so great. Little Hope offers a similar experience in many ways. This is a sinister game full of excellent scares, improving some aspects, but also suffering from the same issues.
Gods Will Fall proved to be a game I wish I played sooner. While it fails to realise its full potential, it takes you on an unforgettable journey as you guide unsuspecting heroes against perilous odds. With satisfying combat, picturesque landscapes, and epic boss battles, Gods Will Fall is a gem of a dungeon crawler and one you won’t want to miss.
Ord. is a unique take on the text adventure genre from Mujo Games, where stories are told through three words at a time. Making use of minimalist backgrounds, visual effects and sounds, at each stage of its five adventures, Ord. presents you with a one-word prompt and two possible replies to choose from. Each choice made influences the course of your adventure as well as the ending you receive, making for some intriguing and often bizarre experiences. At any point, your decision also has the power to immediately end your adventure; as such, you may choose to play it safe or take a risk, but no matter what you choose, you are likely to be left scratching your head at the wacky outcomes. In no other game have I ever found myself bribing a raccoon, though I have felt robbed by one (looking at you, Tom Nook).
I am a big fan of the 2.5 horror format. Having played and reviewed both Coma games as well as thoroughly enjoying games like Detention, the thought of a zombie-based game was intriguing to me. There is a lot that could be done with this genre. Having read the premise to this game, I was definitely more than ready to give Red Colony a go.

NUTS is a story focused adventure game, with a heavy emphasis on exploration and developing lore. As a recently hired employee, you will traverse the wilderness and collect data about the endangered squirrel population. As data is collected, the world begins to develop, showing Nina, your boss, how dire the situation you have encountered truly is.
It might seem a little early in the year for some horror, but after playing through the entirety of the psychological horror game, The Medium, I found it to be so much more. The Medium places you in the shoes of Marianne, a young woman able to commune with the dead and lost souls looking for a way to pass on. After the death of her adopted father, Marianne receives an ominous phone call. This leads her to the long-abandoned Niwa workers’ resort. Here she must face new threats in her pursuit of finding the truth about her past. What follows is a disturbing journey littered with secrets, revelations, and a horrific danger that will hunt you in this world, and the next.
Shadow Gangs, a side-scrolling action platformer, pays homage to Shinobi and other retro games in the game style. It revitalizes the formula, maintaining similar gameplay while updating the mechanics. You play as Dan the Crimson Ninja. Throughout the fifteen levels, Dan traverses a variety of enemies, boss fights and gauntlets of platforming.
Ratalaika are back with another easy platinum for the PlayStation 4, welcome to the Loot Hero DX PlayStation 4 review. I gave up buying these games for easy platinums a while ago but I am happy to review one now and again for the laughs. Sometimes they can be good but, in my humble opinion, they are mostly cash-ins for people wishing to bolster their imaginary trophy cabinet. I was once one of those people, now I can take a step back and view them from the outside.
Umihara Kawase: BaZooKa! is a spin-off of the Umihara Kawase series. This series has actually been floating around in the gaming ether for quite some time all the way back to the Super Famicon. In the main series, it’s a colourful little platformer where you use a fishing hook to navigate around platforms and defeat various fishy enemies. If you want to look into the series further the easiest way to play the old games is on Steam but there was also a recent title Umihara Kawase: Fresh released on Nintendo Switch in 2019. BaZooKa takes many of the ideas of this series and turns it into more of an arcade title. Let’s explore in more detail.
Piofiore: Fated Memories is a visual novel showcasing the Italian town of Burlone. In Burlone, there are three rival Mafias: the Lao-Shu, the Falzone, and the Visconti. You play as Liliana Adornato, and in making decisions, the story changes around you. Throughout the game, you will find interesting character arcs, tough decisions, and devastating betrayals.
There will be games that make you feel like you don’t want to play them because they are so bad. Dread Nautical is that game for me. This game has many things that made me not like playing it, and I will be honest in that I have not beaten this game. I’ve had this game for a bit now, and whenever I start doing a session, I need to stop playing it 5-10 minutes at each time and at this point, I have grown tired. So why do I not like this game? Serious Sam is a series that has been around for a long time. Overshadowed by the likes of Doom, Duke Nukem¸ and Goldeneye, the first-person action shooter series never truly felt like a revolutionary game series.
VR games oftentimes follow a certain trope like recreating something you can do in real life, throwing you into a zombie apocalypse, or giving you a gun. Lone Echo on Oculus Rift differs in standard VR gameplay and drops you into the body of an android dubbed, Jack, alongside Captain Olivia Rhodes on a mission on a space station near the rings of Saturn. The game starts out with you aiding Captain Rhodes in some basic tasks as you go through tutorial-like stages by teaching you how to use your IO-sensor, welding torch, repulsion traversal jets, and a rocket pack. In the opening act of the game, you will move around the space station accessing control ports and panels, turning dials and levers to complete small puzzle sections.

The story in Slayin 2 is about a kingdom under siege. After the king has been kidnapped, the kingdom falls and inevitably becomes overrun with monsters. It’s now your job to rid the world of these foul beasts and save the kingdom. While it’s not hugely original, it gives you a purpose to go on a monster-hunting spree.
