Love, Ghostie is a very cute and cozy game. It is somewhat short but has a lot of replayability potential. We have 12 characters to mix and match, which makes for up to 65 potential couples and storylines. With its pleasant music and cute characters, as well as skip dialogue options, it makes for a very relaxing and fun afternoon playthrough
really like this game. I think with a couple of tweaks, it could be one of my favorite new restaurant simulation games. And this is coming from a woman who put more than 300 hours into Plate Up! last year! I would like to see some additions made to it, like the addition of a multiplayer mode, more conversations and decorations, and more ways to customize your tavern. Tavern Manager Simulator is a lot of fun, and I’m looking forward to seeing if the developers plan to make any changes in the future.
Leximan is an incredibly charming, slapstick take on puzzle games designed for players who can learn to love the world of words in all of its goofy potential. As clunky as it all seems, it’s a game with a lot more going on behind the scenes than you’d imagine, and its cleverness is never used to make you feel like you’re doing something wrong. Instead, joke answers and silliness can lead to ah-ha! moments, and the occasional groan if you know what sins puns commit upon society. The gameplay is lighthearted and low on stress, making it a terrific wind-down puzzler for someone who doesn’t feel like reading the next chapter of their book just yet or has already beat the NYT crossword of the day. The game’s world is well thought out, and, for players tired of reclusive wizarding societies built on controversy, this one is gentle and clever and saves its barbs for big-ticket issues like individualism and capitalism without making it a preach piece. On the whole, Leximan is a terrific summer surprise, a unique game that finds a niche and cozies itself into it with the warmth of a favorite afghan. I’m delighted to recommend this game with a whole heart, and I hope you’ll give it a chance, too.
I have a lot of mixed feelings about Elemental Exiles. There are a lot of cool things that the developers added to the Rogue-like deckbuilder that were fun and interesting, but there were just too many downsides. I love the way this game looks, and I like a lot about it, but there were just so many issues that made it less than fun to play. I’m pretty torn about Elemental Exiles because I love so many parts of it. However, the durability system and the card RNG are hard to overlook. I’m just not sure what to think about it.
Sokomage is a short, but pleasantly challenging sokoban-style puzzle game, especially when navigating the multiple screen per level. Frustrating at times, but overall satisfying.
Loco-Sort is a very fun, train-themed puzzle game with a lot of heart. It had no bugs that I found, it’s eye-pleasing, and it’s just a lot of good, clean fun. It’s wholesome, nostalgic, and adorable. I can’t tell you how much I love this game. It has a few small issues that make it a little less than perfect, but they are nothing in comparison to how fun the game is to play. The levels are challenging, the music and looks are thematic and aesthetic, and the little scenes are really beautiful. I enjoyed my time with Loco-Sort, and I look forward to completing the final few levels in the very near future. I can’t recommend this one enough; even if you don’t like toy trains, you will probably still dig this sweet and lovingly crafted puzzle game!
Hidden Through Time 2: Discovery is a lovely hidden object game that offers a blend of relaxation and challenge. Its beautifully drawn scenes, calming music, and engaging gameplay make it fun to play. If you have played the previous games in the series, you will most likely enjoy Hidden Through Time 2: Discovery and feel right at home, as the gameplay is similar to the previous one.
Back To Home is okay. You can really tell that this game was created by a very small team with little to no quality checking. It's cute, it's wholesome, and it features a very cute cat, but it's just very hard to play. I really love the music and the look of the game, but the movements and geometry could use a little bit of work.
I still don't understand how to play TV Show Tycoon, which means I can't really review it. I would love to see some reviews from people who really dig these kinds of games. I have a feeling it could be really fun and interesting if you had a better tutorial that would really dig into the weeds of how to play this game. If it explained it step by step and walked you through your first show, I could see myself falling into the rabbit hole of making my own TV shows.
Star Wars Bounty Hunter successfully revives a beloved classic, delivering an experience that combines nostalgia with a few modern enhancements. The game’s engaging combat, updated visuals, and authentic Star Wars atmosphere make it a must-play for fans of the franchise and action-adventure enthusiasts. Despite some repetitive elements and a lack of significant new features, Star Wars Bounty Hunter remains a solid addition to the Star Wars gaming universe. The re-release manages to capture the essence of the original while offering a fresh and polished experience for those trying for the first time. Whether you’re a longtime fan of Jango Fett or new to the galaxy far, far away, Star Wars Bounty Hunter is still an old but good time.
Polyoshapes is a good addition to the puzzle genre. Its combination of strategic gameplay, beautiful aesthetics, and soothing soundtrack makes it a good game for anyone looking for a relaxing yet challenging puzzle experience. And the price is great for many hours of puzzle entertainment.
Between the awkward controls and the too-challenging gameplay, I wasn’t a big fan of Rise of Jericho. I think the play is just not a whole lot of fun. It’s a gorgeous game with some great ideas in it, but it’s just not very much fun to play. I didn’t get very far in Rise of Jericho, and I doubt I will be coming back to it.
Supermarket Duck Dash feels like it’s supposed to be hectic and fast-paced, but you can’t move at any kind of speed without knocking everything else back out of your cart. There is also a whole bunch of stuff you can’t reach up on really high shelves. I think the best I did was a couple of small items that barely stayed in my cart. Overall, it was not a well-made game, and it was not fun. It’s a real shame; this could be an amazingly fun, silly title, but it fell short of the mark it was obviously aiming for.
Hannah’s Day is a cosy puzzler you can likely complete over the weekend. Its focus on a follow-your-dreams narrative and simple puzzles make it perfect for casual players. While the story didn’t entirely hit the mark for me, its positive message is one we can all get behind. Whether or not you decide to pick up the skateboard and ride with Hannah, her journey is a pleasant one. There is a free demo available on Steam to try out.
The depth and breadth of The Garden Path are so extensive and coupled with real-time interaction that it’s hard to review after only a few days of play. My initial thoughts on this exquisite, hand-crafted game were positive. The artwork is stunning, the dialogue witty, and the mystery intriguing. But as time progressed, and I was slowed down by my excessive collecting, coupled with the lack of direction, my enthusiasm plummeted. However, I pushed through the barriers of frustration, had the Eureka moment, and started to understand where The Garden Path was going. This is not a game for the faint-hearted. If you like bright colours and clear guidance, look for a different game. But, just like in real life, the more time and effort you invest, the more reward you get, especially when it comes to gardening. The Garden Path is truly a remarkable game. Unlike anything I’ve encountered before, I’m left wanting to know more and play more. It was close to getting our highest rating, but the lack of clarity on some of the mechanics and the snail’s pace penalty for hoarding means:
Tokyo Xanadu eX+ is a fresh port of an older game to a system that makes it accessible to almost anyone who wants a stellar, if overpopulated, and socially complicated, action RPG. That makes it a fine ambassador for the genre in general and even a comfortable introduction to Falcom’s particular brand of world-building and visual style. Combat has enough variables to keep you busy with a streamlined palette of options, although there will be a bit of a skill hurdle for those taking on their first game of this type. But with no downside to tweaking the difficulty and tons of resources available for you to use, the game genuinely feels like it wants you to succeed at playing it, which is going to be refreshing to anyone who has friends fighting their way through the Elden Ring expansion. Around here, we know we’re looking for a good time in our games, a fun time, and an experience that doesn’t leave us feeling too much like we’ve lost the joy of gaming. Tokyo Xanadu eX+ is an odd pick for a cozy experience, and yet, it absolutely can be, with a pace that’s quicker and livelier than its Persona peers. I’m happy to be a fan of Falcom in general, and I think this is a great game for chill gamers looking to explore a niche they otherwise might skip.
Valley Peaks is a climb up the mountain I didn’t expect to enjoy as much as I did. Its unique climbing mechanics make each ascent a satisfying challenge, even when things don’t go to plan. After completing each mountain, I was eager to tackle another route or simply take in the experience of exploring the valley and chatting with NPCs, something not all games compel me to do. If you’re looking for a relaxing climbing game where you might learn a little about yourself in the process, I highly recommend Valley Peaks. A free demo is available on Steam for you to try out.
Abathor is old arcade action at its best. Rich, detailed levels with satisfying combat and platforming make this well worth picking up for anyone looking to take on its challenge. It’s certainly a challenge that may feel harsh to some players, but old-school arcade players would likely not have it any other way. For me, it felt like a game that took the excitement and instant gratification of an arcade game but felt appropriately adapted for modern players. Throw four players into the mix, and you have your next fantasy game night. Wearing costumes is optional. A free demo is available on Steam.
Arranger: A Role-Puzzling Adventure is a game focused on the core experience of exploration and puzzle-solving. It brings a refreshing twist to the RPG genre. Its innovative grid system, storytelling, and visuals make it a standout title for me on the Nintendo Switch. The game’s unique approach to movement, exploration, and combat, combined with its story, ensures that it will leave a lasting impression on players. Whether you’re a seasoned gamer or new to the genre, Arranger is an adventure worth embarking on.
Été is a relaxing painting game with a summery feel, gorgeous visuals, and a lovely soundtrack. It feels perfect for this ridiculously hot summer when the best thing we can do is stay inside and wait for the heat wave to pass. But you know, it will also be perfect for the cold months when we need a reminder of what summer feels like.
