Mashina never tries to rush you, and that’s the beauty of it. From the soft sound design to the robot’s warm smiles, everything about the experience says, “Take it easy.” There are small frustrations here and there, like the occasional conveyor belt mishap, but they feel more like playful quirks than real problems. This is a game about simple joy: digging, discovering, upgrading at your own pace, and watching a handcrafted world slowly mend itself. It’s family-friendly, stress-free, and absolutely fab for anyone craving a slower, more reflective gaming experience. Mashina is a love letter to creativity and calm. It’s not about challenge or speed, it’s about wonder and the satisfaction of exploring a world made with heart.
Morgan: Metal Detective has an interesting mystery to solve via finding buried objects. It’s a short adventure, but I didn’t dig it as much as I hoped.
Ritual of Raven is a quest fest and a collecting paradise. The story bobs along like the cheeky raven, moving from one place to another, all guided, but with no time pressure. Creating enchantments to control the adorable pot-like Arcana Constructs is definitely a highlight, and although I have a couple of niggles with the game, overall, it’s cast its spell and I’m totally bewitched by it.
I adore the art style of Hungry Meem, it’s vibrant, and whimsical. The concept of the game is great, and there is clearly a lot of passion in how the game has been developed. The bombardment of instructions gets less as you progress through the game, making Hungry Meem flow better and more pleasant to play.
All in all, Primal Planet is a rare gem, something that looks familiar at first glance but hides a big heart and plenty of surprises. It blends exploration, crafting, and narrative in a way that feels fun and even touching. This is one delightful surprise, and it absolutely deserves attention
Doronko Wanko doesn’t bother with epic quests or mind-bending puzzles. It has you gleefully rolling around in the mud; it shines through its simplicity and promotes silliness. It’s a game that invites you to jump in, paws first, whenever you fancy a bit of carefree chaos. No need for deep thinking, just chuckles, playful messes, and the kind of light-hearted fun that feels like a warm hug and a wagging tail.
The graphics in Upin & Ipin Universe are beautiful and give a real flavour of a Southeast Asian tropical village. Riding the tandem round the village was a definite highlight. Unfortunately, the uncontrollable camera and timed mini-games made playing Upin & Ipin Universe a frustrating and stressful experience. For a game based on a children’s animated TV series, it didn’t portray the childhood fun I was hoping for.
Your Personal Chill Apartment is a welcome addition to the crowded landscape of productivity apps. While it doesn’t bring anything new to the table, the game does what it sets out to do – to allow us to create some chill digital spaces, quite nicely.
If you like visual novels, jigsaw puzzles, and slow, relaxing gameplay, you’ll like Sunset Drive. The soundtrack is excellent, the artwork is great, the puzzles are the right amount of a challenge, the characters are well fleshed out, honestly, what’s not to like?
Honestly, I don’t have any complaints about Islanders: New Shores. It delivers on all fronts: gameplay, visuals, and sound design. It fully captured my attention, and the experience was more than pleasant. It’s the kind of game you open “just for 10 minutes” and find yourself playing an hour later. So I guess… they did it again!
Danger in Pompeii attempts to revitalize edutainment with an adventure game that puts you in the shoes of a kid both frightened and fascinated by what’s to come. Without obsessing over the horrors of the tragedy, the game allows players of any age to learn something new about Rome through what we’ve learned from one of the most unfortunate and most well-preserved historical sites in the region. Perky enough to avoid feeling dry and pacing its educational aspects well, it’s a plain ol’ just nice game for anyone who’d enjoy an adventure through a world they’ve never experienced. For younger gamers, especially those with educational assistance from an adult, it’s a fun way to feel genuinely invested in history, learning without feeling condescended to. A bit on the short side (understandable for its niche and price point), and with a tough job ahead of it, navigating a historical tragedy, Danger in Pompeii is a nice surprise that does a great job of not feeling like the usual homework.
With Hidden Cats in Rio de Janeiro, we have returned to the classic format of the hidden cat games. As always, I am excited to see where we are going next, looking for hidden cats!
Secret Paws – Cozy Offices is a delightful addition to the hidden cats genre. Cuboid cats and dioramas that rotate add a different twist!
Pack Lunch is a nice puzzle game with bite-sized levels, perfect for snacking and relaxing between work and other less pleasant tasks. If you enjoy grid puzzles, you’ll likely appreciate Pack Lunch as well.
Drill Core is one of the best surprises I’ve had in the management sim space. It blends the satisfaction of a well-planned strategy game with the real-time thrill of tower defence, all wrapped in a setting that feels both tongue-in-cheek and terrifying. For players who love to plan, build, and improvise under pressure, this is an easy recommendation. But even if you’re usually intimidated by these kinds of games, like I was, there’s a good chance Drill Core will win you over, too.
Donkey Kong Bananza is a truly magnificent game. There are some lovely nods to the classic Donkey Kong games, and obvious vibes from other Nintendo franchises. For someone who no longer enjoys relentless platforming, Donkey Kong Bananza brings together so many of my new gaming passions: the ability to bash and smash through the terrain, collecting everything which is revealed; large areas of land to roam and explore, spotting NPCs with a quest; and puzzling arenas to test my observation skills in finding that final hidden banandium gem. I can even harvest some vegetables! For some Donkey Kong purists, the Bananza transformations might be a change too far, but for me, Donkey Kong Bananza is a ground-breaking winner.
Bridge Constructor Studio is a thoughtful, accessible puzzler that makes engineering fun for everyone. Whether you’re a meticulous planner or a chaotic experimenter, there’s plenty to enjoy here. With no real restrictions holding you back, the game becomes a creative playground, great for short sessions or long evenings of trial and error. While it might not revolutionise the series for long-time fans, it’s an ideal entry point for newcomers and a relaxing yet stimulating experience for anyone who loves problem-solving. A free demo is also available on Steam.
If you know someone who likes memes and is in need of a little cheering up, I can’t recommend is THIS a game? enough to them. It’s short, sweet, silly, and worth the couple of bucks to support a great artist. Overall, a perfect gag gift game. I loved my time with is THIS a game? I think it continues to add new depth to what a video game can be.
Much like the previous games in the series, Hidden Cats and Pandas is a short and sweet hidden object game. If you need something quick but cute, this might be the game for you.
