It’s hard for me to formulate a real opinion on this game. It was okay; I didn’t find the gameplay interesting or different from a million similar games. The love story felt tacked on instead of integrated; I didn’t really get to know the characters or care about what they had to say. I did like some of the art and that I got to decorate the store, but the actual gameplay of the Solitaire stuff in Solitaire Quest: Love Blossoms wasn’t the best. With repetitive music and a lack of coins, I’m not even sure this is a good Solitaire-like game. Overall, I just don’t know how to rate it.

In the words of my 11-year-old, “Fitness Boxing feat. Hatsune Miku was a game that I enjoyed, although it was hard trying to time my actions right. I think that is something I just need to practice. I wish there were more male characters, but I did enjoy the game.” I’m incredibly sad that I didn’t get to try the game for myself due to my slipped discs, but I’m looking forward to giving it a whirl when I’m better. Hopefully, I’ll update this review with my own thoughts when I’m able to, but for now, I hope that my 11-year-old’s thoughts are enough. Thanks to my 11-year-old “Dex” for being a good sport.

Liked - Cash Cow DX
Sep 20, 2024

Cash Cow DX is a solid arcade game that channels the spirit of 80s classics. As I’ve said about many of Flynn’s Arcade’s releases, if they ever opened a real arcade filled with the games they’ve published, I’d happily visit and spend a few coins. For the price of entry, Cash Cow DX offers a fun and challenging arcade experience that’s particularly suited for retro gaming fans. That said, the game’s difficulty might prove to be a bit too much for casual players or those unfamiliar with the punishing mechanics of old-school arcade games. While it’s not the best arcade game I’ve ever played, it’s certainly worth the cost for fans of quick, nostalgic action.

I like so much about Garden Witch Life . The bees buzzing round the hives, the roses growing up the trellis fences, the exciting and different areas through the magical portal, the cooking mini-games and no dangerous mine monsters to battle with. However at present it feels more like an early access version, and whilst updates are welcome to resolve issues, I shouldn’t have to restart in order to benefit. It is for the numerous issues I encountered that I can’t recommend Garden Witch Life at this moment. I sincerely hope that the developers weed out the problems, as there is a great farming/life sim game waiting to be unearthed.

Mind-blown - Bakeru
Sep 18, 2024

In the end, BAKERU is a delightful adventure packed with charm, offering a whimsical journey through a beautifully crafted world. The expansive levels, rhythmic combat, and fun driving segments keep things varied and engaging, while the game’s attention to detail and love for Japanese culture makes it feel like a heartfelt tribute to the country’s folklore.

If you are an old fan of the series, I doubt there is much to say to dissuade you from playing Broken Sword – Shadow of the Templars: Reforged. There isn’t much reason to dissuade you anyway – it was done with evident appreciation and affection for the original games. If you are a new fan and this is the first time you are meeting George and Nico, well, you are in for a treat. Considering there’s yet another remake coming, based on the second game in the series -, this Autumn is shaping out to be great for adventure game fans!

Cricket: Jae’s Really Peculiar Game has a lot of style and a lot of heart, and the people who grew up on both Earthbound and Super Mario RPG are going to find something here that scratches a hard-to-reach itch. But like its predecessors, it’s going to be a little sturdier of an opponent than you think, and mastery of combat and awareness of its quirks is going to be key as to whether or not this game is going to be for you in the long term.

As I mentioned in my review of the demo, this is not my kind of puzzle game. I don’t normally play things like SwayBods, but I found this particular game appealing. It’s really well done, so if you like these kinds of games, I can recommend it wholeheartedly. I think this is the most well-polished, colorful, and fun game in the genre.

Loved - Coral Island
Sep 14, 2024

Since the first release in Early Access Coral Island has made quite a journey. I’m aware that I’m playing the game at its prime time when all bugs have been ironed out, and additions have been made. It makes for a well-balanced and exciting adventure with a lot of exploration, a wonderful world under the ocean and more. The developers took a good look at all kinds of sim games and learned what works best for every game component. would like to give Coral Island our highest rating for a beautiful and well-thought-out farming and crafting sim. As a big fan of the Nintendo Switch, I hope the game will make the leap to that handheld as well!

Last Dream Fishing Arcade while simple, is a nice little fishing game to dabble in from time to time. In today’s gaming lingo, it might be considered a “loading game,” something to play while waiting for a bigger, more demanding title to install. While it doesn’t reinvent the fishing game formula, I can’t deny that it offers a pleasant escape, especially after a stressful day. It’s the kind of game that allows you to switch off your brain and enjoy a peaceful, low-stakes gaming experience. For the price of entry, it’s well worth checking out, particularly if you’re a fan of fishing games or just looking for something relaxing to play in short bursts

100 Hidden Cthulhu Fish is a fun way to pass the time for half an hour or so. It’s not a long game, but it still packs a punch for what it is. The art is pretty awesome and that alone is a reason to play it, in my opinion. There are more than just fish you’ll be discovering

Shogun Showdown is a dangerously addictive roguelike but in the best way possible. Its challenging but fair gameplay encourages you to learn from your mistakes, and the more you play, the more you’ll improve. Yars Rising is a fantastic action-adventure game that brings back the charm of the original while adding fresh, modern gameplay elements. WayForward’s signature style is evident throughout, from the humour and exploration to the engaging combat and clever hacking mini-games. While the stealth sections may not appeal to everyone, the overall experience is compelling, especially with its excellent performance and polished presentation. Whether you’re a longtime fan of Yars’ Revenge or new to the series, Yars Rising is well worth your time.

Farewell North is one of the more impactful and emotional gaming experiences I’ve had in recent years. The journey of the border collie, the bond with its human, and the struggle to find its way home all create a deeply emotional narrative that stays with you for a while and will probably bring a tear or two to your eyes. If you like story-driven adventures that tug at your heartstrings, you should definitely consider playing this game.

Cylinder: Puzzles Returned is a solid puzzle game that offers a range of modes to suit different types of players. Whether you prefer the slower, more thoughtful pace of Adventure Mode, the fast-paced action of Endless Mode, or the competitive thrill of multiplayer, there’s something here for everyone. While Cylinder doesn’t necessarily reinvent the wheel, it offers a well-rounded and enjoyable experience that puzzle fans will appreciate. It may not stick with you as much as other iconic puzzle games, but it’s still a worthy addition to any puzzle lover’s library and a great option for your next game night.
