9.5 / 10.0 - Gears of War: E-Day
Oct 1, 2026

Gears of War: E-Day is the best game The Coalition made! As it was an exceptional experience and one of the strongest (and the boldest) in the franchise's history, while staying true to its core identity. The game delivered a rich story filled with emotions, heartbreaking moments, and excellent environmental storytelling. Alongside interesting dynamic encounters, masterful weapon and gear handling, and refined movement and gameplay mechanics. All of this blends with top-tier visual effects, exceptional animation quality, stunning graphics, and an expressive, powerful soundtrack. It is truly the greatest third-person action game of all time and the undisputed ruler of the genre.

Silent Hill: Townfall is a solid game that checks all the right boxes, featuring a compelling story, clever puzzle design, and good gameplay variety. On the flip side, even its brightest moments suffer from inconsistencies. As the characters' presentation in the story falls flat, and the game loses much of its steam in the final act. The result is an enjoyable yet flawed experience that raises serious questions about Konami's business strategy for the franchise. Handing development out to multiple studios rarely works without strict creative benchmarks in place; more often than not, it leads to disjointed entries lacking a cohesive vision—and the franchise's post-Silent Hill 4 era is proof enough of that.

6.5 / 10.0 - Marvel's Wolverine
Sep 23, 2026

Marvel's Wolverine experience is soulless, lacking any creativity that could make it stand out. The story isn't good at all, and completely kills your anticipation for the future of the X-Men with Insomniac. Not only that, but the game also annoyingly holds your hand and guides you to the extent that it feels like it doesn't trust you to make simple decisions. Also the combat, while being entertaining, it lacks the depth and novelty needed to elevate its design beyond merely having excellent animation and graphics. In short, Marvel's Wolverine isn't bad, but it is an entirely forgettable experience.

7.5 / 10.0 - Orbitals
Sep 20, 2026

Orbitals has a charming art direction in every detail, along with delightful gameplay that uniquely relies on co-op mechanics. However, the experience isn't without its flaws! Most notably, the level design, which is unfortunately hit or miss. Alongside the rushed storytelling and the lack of variety in music. Even so, Orbitals remains a solid co-op game that adds a welcome variety to the Switch 2's library.

The games in the Master Collection Vol. 2 remain timeless, and these modern ports do what they set out to do: run well without any game-breaking issues. However, both Peace Walker and MGS4 suffer from some issues, such as audio and visual bugs that need to be patched out to give these games the definitive versions they deserve.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword offers a solid foundation in certain aspects, particularly with its protagonist, Musashi. In addition to the combat system and several distinctive ideas in its boss encounters. However, the game did not utilize these elements well due to a lack of enemy variety, an overly easy difficulty curve, lackluster level and quest design, and shallow exploration. These shortcomings held the experience far below its true potential, ultimately rendering the game a wasted opportunity on all fronts.

With their debut title, Rebel Wolves were able to craft an outstanding and unconventional RPG rooted in granting player freedom and variety across most of its elements. The studio also built an intriguing world backed by masterfully told lore; however, a few flaws in open-world design and enemy variety kept The Blood of Dawnwalker from reaching excellence.

8 / 10.0 - Mortal Shell II
Aug 29, 2026

Mortal Shell II is the sequel the first game needed. It builds on and expands its ideas, delivering one of the best Soulslikes out right now. The combat is fun, the bosses are great, and world design and exploration are among its strongest suits. All of that packaged with stunning visuals. And despite the reptitive design of the dungeons and the story leaving a lot to be desired, neither takes away from how amazing the overall experience is.

Marvel Tokon has succeeded in introducing a fighting experience that fits the legacy of Marvel characters in the fighting genre. Much of that is thanks to its distinct art style, alongside its packed content, a healthy variety of mods, and its fast, fun combat system built around 4v4 showdowns. To be a standout in the genre, has a clear identity of its own, and proving that Marvel still has a prominent place in the fighting game scene.

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy might be the weakest entry in the series, but that does not mean it's a bad game. As Asobo Studio has proven, they are still able to give amazing story moments, a stellar art style, and being able to try something different, even if that attempt didn't entirely land.

8.5 / 10.0 - Splatoon Raiders
Aug 15, 2026

Splatoon Raiders successfully breaks away from the series' multiplayer-first routine by delivering a dedicated single-player campaign in the looter-shooter genre, all while keeping the franchise's signature fast-paced gameplay intact. It also stands out with a great variety of enemies and bosses, paired with rewarding loot that keeps you running more raids to upgrade your weapons and abilities. So overall, it's a strong, promising start for a new Splatoon spin-off.

8 / 10.0 - Star Fox
Jul 22, 2026

A Star Fox 64 remake might not be the most exciting thing to some of the fans of the franchise; however, after years of absence, Star Fox needed an experience to remind players what made it one of Nintendo's standout classic series. And the remake succeeded in doing just that by giving us a thoroughly enjoyable rail-shooter adventure. With a focus on the story and characters, alongside an iconic orchestral soundtrack, making it the ideal launchpad to bring Star Fox back into the spotlight.

Echoes of Aincrad initially seems like an ambitious adventure, especially with its story concept and its beautiful world, in addition, of course, to its relatively entertaining combat. However, the game quickly loses its luster, and a set of design decisions turns it into a mediocre experience.

Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced is an excellent remake of a good game. A good remake is one that conveys the same original experience with some QOL improvements and additions to the gameplay that leverage modern technology, making it a more modern experience that is more acceptable to new generations. And this remake did that to a large extent. However, the problem with this game remains stealth first, and then the combat system, which, unfortunately, despite attempts to improve them, are still very shallow.

Despite its notably repetitive level design and visual variety, Devil May Cry 5 remains one of the best action games in recent years, thanks to its deep combat system, character variety, and the massive amount of content it offers. And the Devil Hunter Edition on the Nintendo Switch 2 is a fantastic option for anyone looking to experience it on a handheld device with largely stable technical performance.

8.5 / 10.0 - Mina the Hollower
May 30, 2026

Mina the Hollower delivers a meticulously polished classic action-platformer experience, brilliantly blending the brutal challenge reminiscent of Souls-like games with excellent level design philosophy that grants the player complete freedom of exploration. Although it suffers from a few missteps, such as vague guidance during the early hours and poorly distributed enemies in some areas, the game makes up for it with solid gameplay backed by a charming art style and soundtrack. This makes it one of the best games in its genre and an exceptional, must-play value for its price.

6 / 10.0 - Bubsy 4D
May 21, 2026

Thirty years ago, Bubsy 3D was released, and its biggest problem was its inability to keep up with its competitors. Today, thirty years later, and with the series returning to 3D once again with Bubsy 4D, its biggest problem still remains its inability to keep up with its competitors. However, this does not mean it is a bad game like its predecessor; rather, it is a mediocre experience that has its enjoyable moments, such as the platforming and the dialogue writing. Yet, it largely failed to deliver a satisfying level design that lives up to the high standards of platformer games in recent years.

10 / 10.0 - Forza Horizon 6
May 14, 2026

Forza Horizon 6 proves that it is not just a new entry in a successful series but rather the strongest statement for racing games this generation, setting a new standard in the industry. Through moving the festival to the beautiful Japanese lands, Playground Games succeeded in delivering a perfect mix between the classic direct progression system and innovation in the side modes. And although the graphical leap may not be revolutionary by the standards of previous generations, the attention to graphical details and the strong sound engineering make driving any car in the streets of Japan a unique unforgettable experience.

8 / 10.0 - Saros
May 13, 2026

The experience of Saros is not necessarily perfect, as it repeats the same mistakes we've seen in recent PlayStation games by delivering a weaker story than its predecessor, in addition to some issues in the implementation of the roguelite system. Despite that, it is still an excellent action game, whether because of its new ideas and enemy encounters, or the great game feel due to the visual aspects and its relatively high production value.

Directive 8020 has an intriguing narrative beginning and visual mastery in character design, but it fell into the trap of boredom, repetition, and catastrophic technical performance.
