It just didn’t entertain me enough, sadly, even with a story-based system to experience all the workings of the machine, as the objectives all just seemed underwhelming.
Wild Hearts S is what the original always wanted to be: a bold, inventive monster-hunting action game with systems that encourage creativity and cooperation.
I was charmed by The Sims 4: Enchanted by Nature Expansion Pack; it’s a wonderful experience that existing and budding Sims alike can enjoy.
Soma still stands as a perfect example of what great horror can be, a decade later. Its story is heavy, both emotionally and thematically, ironically mirroring the crushing isolation of being trapped beneath the ocean, while the monster encounters can be hit or miss, the ones that land are truly terrifying, and that’s more than enough for me. If you’ve ever been on the fence about playing it, there’s no better time than now.
WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers is not for the faint-hearted. If super tough, complex gameplay is what you’re after, WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers is definitely going to challenge you.
Donkey Kong Bananza is an evolution, not just for DK, but for 3D platformers in general. It’s bold, unpredictable, and overflowing with ideas.
EA Sports College Football 26 builds on the strong foundations of last year’s return and delivers a deeper, more refined college football experience across the board. With its stunning visuals, realistic gameplay, revamped modes, and increased attention to the college tradition, it’s a love letter to the fans of the sport.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 brings skating back to the forefront in a genre that receives far less attention than it deserves. The amount of content, gameplay additions, and graphical updates makes for a truly impressive combo. Iron Galaxy has set the stage for a revival of a beloved game series. I’m ready for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 now.
There’s something that continuously draws us back to old/retro games. Is it nostalgia? Is it wanting to relive the memories? Did we love the storyline? Maybe the somewhat now dated graphics and the soundtrack kept our blood pumping as we eagerly awaited the next boss battle or the revealing of a hidden item? If you have chosen all of the above, then you’ll be delighted to learn that Powerhoof’s newest game, ‘The Drifter’, will unlock all your old-school gaming desires!
The quality of life updates do a great deal to enhance the experience for both longtime fans and those interested in getting into the franchise. It plays and looks better than before, but also offers options to restore the original experience and the Bonus Content is filled with numerous extras to enjoy.
‘Gorn 2’ delivers more of everything that made ‘Gorn’ a must-play for VR enthusiasts. Although the campaign is way too short for my liking, there is endless fun to be had playing with the Custom and Endless modes. Expressive combat, increased variety of weaponry, over-the-top violence, challenging boss battles and kicking the crap out of many Rokibe. What’s not to love about that? With only a couple of minor issues ‘Gorn 2’ is a solid entry and well worth adding to your PSVR2 library.
Ready or Not will make a strong debut on Xbox Series X with some fine-tuning and polishing. It delivers a tense, tactical shooter that doesn’t shy away from realism and consequences.
Overall, the game still feels like a mobile game, but it is visually pleasing and has done a good job of crossing over to PC Gaming. Not groundbreaking, but it scratches the gaming itch. It’s a short title, but completionists will have satisfaction or frustration from replaying levels to get all trophies and stars. Could have done a lot more to move away from the mobile feel.
Tamagotchi Plaza: The Nintendo Switch 2 edition is a cute little casual game for those looking for a low-stakes, stress-free gaming session. It’s a family-friendly title that could keep young kids occupied for a while and isn’t overly challenging.
Overall, I enjoy Len’s Island, and the people at Flow Studio have done a great job with their debut title. With the update released, it is clear that they have listened to their community. I would recommend it to all survival fans, but with a genre so overpopulated, I fear Len’s Island may fall to the wayside.
Overall, the game is simple in audio, visuals, and gameplay. But it has a difficult underbelly when it comes to levelling up and managing your inventory. It comes at a good price and serves as a decent time killer, but it feels more like a mobile-style game.
While Anger Foot on PS5 doesn’t reinvent itself, it doesn’t need to. What it does is deliver the same unfiltered adrenaline rush with a level of physical feedback only the DualSense can offer.
What do you get when you mash together a rogue-lite deck-builder, customisable trains armed to the teeth with explosives, and a cartoon-style game show? You get Battle Train — an imaginative, chaotic ride that feels like Total Drama Island met Slay the Spire.
Against the Storm is the kind of city-builder that even the most hardcore fans of the genre will feel the pressure in. It may not be for everyone, but for players looking for a surprisingly cosy wind-down game for an hour or so per settlement that still gives some challenge, Against the Storm might be worth braving the weather for.
White Knuckle is intense, stylish, and unforgiving—in all the right ways. It’s a love letter to speedrunners and ’90s retro platforming fans.
