Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection is another good package that offers new players the chance to experience a series of adventures of the little blue robot. With a lot of content spread across six games that last around 12 to 20 hours, RPG fans will certainly get a lot out of this collection. During my playthrough, I found some minor visual errors, however, the titles work very well. The biggest problem with this collection is its high asking price, but if that's not a problem, you'll find some interesting titles.

Despite a strong art direction, Labyrinth of Zangetsu doesn't offer much beyond that. Putting it alongside other Dungeon Crawling RPGs that have come out recently, it ends up being so archaic and repetitive in its structure that it doesn't stand out, being more worth returning to old adventures or finding other worlds of samurai and ink.

5.5 / 10.0 - Mugen Souls
Apr 28, 2023

Mugen Souls is a rerelease that is very faithful to the original Japanese release. Unfortunately, the game is very dated in mechanics and aesthetics, and it's hard to recommend it with so many good titles of the genre on Switch. It's worth buying only for those who already were curious about it and who like RPGs with lighthearted humor ambiance.

7 / 10.0 - Trinity Trigger
Apr 25, 2023

At the of the day, the simplicity of its controls and systems, in addition to a cooperative proposal, make this an enjoyable experience. It's a bit disappointing that such important names in the industry couldn't extract their full potential. Maybe the barrier was the low budget? Who knows... All in all, it's a title that's not to be thrown away, nor is it a mediocre experience, but given what it could deliver, the conclusion is that it's just another experience that's fun, but won't be that memorable.

Fairy Fencer F: Refrain Chord is an interesting alternate version for Fairy Fencer F, offering a tactical gameplay with great variety in options for the player to customize the team and deal with the obstacles. Unfortunately, its biggest unique element, the combat muses, also ends up as a big limitation to the area designs, making the repetition feeling stronger. Add in the little graphic polish and the disconnections between plot and gameplay, and what we get is a game that had potential to be much better but is still worth it for fans of the genre.

Despite the mediocrity of its narrative and audiovisual design, Process of Elimination has interesting gameplay ideas that deserve to be polished and further developed in a later title. Fans of survival-themed anime or investigation adventures like Dangaronpa might enjoy this game. I also recommend it, but with several reservations for those looking for experimental gameplay with tactical mechanics.

6 / 10.0 - Marfusha
Apr 10, 2023

Despite a very striking look with great pixel art and good character designs, Marfusha has a pretty bland story, and with an experience that, even being short, quickly becomes boring. It can be fun if you want a quick tower defense experience that doesn't require much thought for an afternoon, but there are certainly better options on the market.

Norn9: Var Commons is an otome game with a weak start, but it becomes more interesting when it finally shows the rich details behind the characters and mysteries. It's an easy recommendation for fans of the genre.

Atelier Ryza 3 may not be perfect but it certainly had a lot of love involved. It brings to light an optimistic vision for the future of the series, where I can't imagine Gust discarding the idea of open maps that encourage the player to carry out trivial activities such as quests and collecting materials. Normally I would recommend any modern Atelier as a starting point in the series, as I argue that each title is special in its own way despite the technical leap feeling like an impediment. However, I will contradict myself this time, as Atelier Ryza 3 is so delicious and so well-crafted that, frankly, it becomes a much safer recommendation for new fans.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure brings the Crossbell duology to a magnificent close, setting the stage for the next chapters in the Trails saga. With its arrival in the West, fans finally have all the main games in the franchise officially translated, allowing for a better understanding of the entire storyline of the series.

9 / 10.0 - Ib
Mar 9, 2023

Ib is a short and sweet experience with a super engaging mystery, fun puzzles to complete, bringing great immersion in its exploration and story. It has very charismatic characters and is super convenient to replay the game with the goal of getting new endings and extra content. If enjoy titles with a more eeriee premise, less focused on action, it's certainly a title worth checking out.

With the re-release of FATAL FRAME: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse, Western fans can finally officially enjoy one of the Wii's most forgotten games. For a game that involved three different companies, the title has some good ideas, but its execution falls short in some areas.

It might be a bit harsh to evaluate Little Witch Nobeta in this way, it's sad to say but the game is disappointing in everything it sets out to present, from its gameplay to its soundtrack. The game could perhaps be better defined as a tangle of good ideas, which don't have the best execution.

Overall, Void Terrarium 2 is a decent, self-assured sequel that retains its desolate atmosphere and a touching, succinct narrative that fills in the gaps left by Void Terrarium 1. However, it's certainly best enjoyed if you've already played the original.

Tales of Symphonia is still an important piece of the franchise and a milestone that should be remembered, but it's unfortunately impossible to recommend the Switch edition when compared to any of the previous releases. It's a shame, as this classic deserved a high quality rerelease so that new players could experience it. It was not the case this time.

I believe a chapter has come to an end; perhaps not a personal one, but one of the Fire Emblem franchise itself. As is assumed by all journeys, I believe we have reached the end of one and the beginning of a new one.

8 / 10.0 - Clive 'N' Wrench
Feb 24, 2023

The truth is that I would never be so tolerant of Clive 'N' Wrench faults if I didn't know the entire context that surrounds him. But playing with everything I've exposed here, I managed to have extreme sympathy with the creator and consequently with his work. More than that, I believe there is a lot of talent behind this game, because despite the lack of polish, it really manages to get it right in several aspects. Which makes me hopeful that the game will be a relative success and we will have more Rob Wass games in the future.

Gal Guardians: Demon Purge is a spin-off of an ecchi franchise and its final quality clearly demonstrates this. When compared to other 2D games from Inti Creates, such as the Azure Strike Gunvolt series, the drop in quality is noticeable. Despite having good gameplay, the combination of its visual elements, sound and design choices end up ruining what could be a good experience.

8.5 / 10.0 - DRAINUS
Feb 20, 2023

It's a polished, fun, and very interesting game from many perspectives. It's definitely impressive and demonstrates the team's full potential, giving me a lot of hope for their next game. Despite the harsh criticism in the last paragraph, I've played all of the company's games (even the promotional Fate/Stay Night) and I feel a tremendous affection for KROBON's career. My excessive criticism comes from a place of legitimate admiration and expectation, so I hope the reader still leaves with the following information: Drainus is a spectacular game, and worth your money.

I genuinely can't look at Labyrinth of Galleria as an average experience within its scope. It really does everything it sets out to do very well. Therefore, if you are one of those who value a well-designed, challenging and mechanic-rich RPG, especially if you are an avid fan of RPG Dungeon Crawler, this is a title that deserves your attention.
