The Mobius Machine is a fun sci-fi metroidvania with enjoyable platform and shooting gameplay and a challenging difficulty level. Genre fans should consider it, despite some structural limitations and repetitiveness due to its indie nature.

85 / 100 - Persona 3 Reload
Feb 28, 2024

Persona 3 Reload is the best way to relive the third chapter of Atlus' saga, despite narrative gaps that might be filled with future DLCs. The alignment with Persona 5 Royal has made it a pleasant and fun experience, with excellent art and music.

50 / 100 - Skull and Bones
Feb 23, 2024

Skull and Bones demonstrates that the live-service ship has sunk. Ubisoft Singapore’s troubled development and unclear concept have resulted in a product that barely performs its role, marred by constant boredom and poor design choices.

Tomb Raider I-III Remastered is a perfect example of how to and how not to remaster a classic. Visually, Aspyr's work is commendable, but gameplay-wise, little has been done to modernize the original trilogy. This collection is only for nostalgia seekers, as younger players will likely struggle to enjoy it.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is mediocre and another unnecessary game-as-a-service. The interesting narrative premise is ruined by poor writing and annoying characters. The solid gunplay falls apart due to repetitive gameplay. It's a major disappointment from Rocksteady.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is a high-quality 2D metroidvania with intricate level design, challenging combat, and excellent platform sequences. Developed by Ubisoft Montpellier, it's a must-have for genre fans and a great way to start the 2024 gaming year. Hopefully, it marks a new beginning for the Prince of Persia saga and Ubisoft.

80 / 100 - A Highland Song
Dec 5, 2023

My first playthrough of A Highland Song was a unique and emotional experience, filled with curiosity and the mysteries of the Scottish hills. The game's replayability means each journey can be different, encouraging multiple playthroughs to discover new outcomes. Inkle's creation is an adventure worth experiencing at least once, whether for the captivating landscapes or the beautiful music by Laurence Chapman, Talisk, and Fourth Moon. If you enjoyed Moira's journey, be prepared for many more.

80 / 100 - EA Sports UFC 5
Dec 4, 2023

EA Sports UFC 5 is undoubtedly the best installment in Electronic Arts' series. The technical revolution with the Frostbite Engine enhances realism, making gameplay spectacular and rewarding. However, the repetitive single-player career needs a major overhaul.

80 / 100 - EA Sports WRC
Nov 23, 2023

EA Sports WRC is a solid title that lays a strong foundation for the future of official World Rally Championship games, inheriting the best aspects of the DiRT Rally series. There are a few minor flaws, and the graphics are a bit dated, but these can be easily overlooked thanks to the enjoyable and satisfying gameplay and well-built career mode.

65 / 100 - Ghostrunner 2
Nov 16, 2023

Ghostrunner 2 doesn't try to win over those who disliked the first game, focusing instead on its hardcore fans who enjoy frenetic action with synthwave music in a cyberpunk setting. The late-arriving new features feel more like a version 1.5 than a true sequel.

65 / 100 - Genotype
Nov 14, 2023

Genotype feels like a missed opportunity. It starts with great promise but ultimately shows the limitations of a production weighed down by its ambitions. The gameplay doesn't fully utilize the protagonist's gloves, sticking to predictable paths. With more creativity, it could have been a standout VR title.

75 / 100 - Kona II: Brume
Nov 2, 2023

Kona II: Brume showcases Parable's growth, adding action and survival horror elements to the walking simulator genre. However, some underdeveloped aspects prevent it from making the leap it deserves. The final result is an intriguing, well-told story with some evident gameplay limits.

85 / 100 - Forza Motorsport
Oct 26, 2023

It's odd to say Forza Motorsport suffers from growing pains in its eighth installment, but its new live service nature results in a flat and sterile career mode. However, once on the track, Turn10's work shines, showcasing the pinnacle of simcade gameplay and graphics.

75 / 100 - EA Sports FC 24
Oct 19, 2023

EA Sports FC 24 isn't the revolution expected with the name change; it's more like FIFA 23 with a new name and menu graphics, and minimal updates across the board. The gameplay remains largely the same: realistic and satisfying offline, chaotic online. Ultimate Team hasn't changed, Club and Volta are sidelined, and only Career mode has made some progress. The main issue, as with many sports games today, is justifying the annual €80 entry fee.

Bud Spencer & Terence Hill – Slaps and Beans 2 is a side-scrolling beat 'em up that entertains fans of Carlo Pedersoli and Mario Girotti's legendary films. Unfortunately, Trinity Team focused only on fans of the movies, missing the opportunity to attract a broader audience of beat 'em up enthusiasts with a bit more effort.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is a typical Assassin’s Creed game, blending familiar storytelling with moments of entertaining gameplay and some tedious parts. It will please fans who wanted a return to the series' roots, especially with its €50 launch price. However, it also shows that the franchise might benefit more from looking toward the future.

Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy is a successful sequel that carries the series' legacy forward. Unfortunately, Frozenbyte hasn't addressed historical flaws, but in terms of puzzle/platforming, it's one of the best, whether in single-player or co-op.

Saying that The Crew Motorfest has finally found its identity by mimicking another series might seem absurd, but it's true. It feels like a Forza Horizon chapter in all but name. While not reaching Forza Horizon 5's excellence, it's a great alternative for PlayStation players seeking a similar racing arcade experience.

85 / 100 - Starfield
Sep 14, 2023

Starfield is a 100% Bethesda RPG whose only real flaw is being too anchored to past game design elements instead of looking forward. Despite some limitations, it's a vast game offering hundreds of hours of gameplay with well-established mechanics and a captivating narrative that keeps players engaged even beyond the credits.

Oceanhorn 2: Knights of Lost Realm leaves a bit of a sour taste, thinking of what it could have been. Just a little extra effort in the combat system and more freedom in platforming could have made it a great game instead of just decent. Cornfox & Brothers’ work is enjoyable if approached with the right lightheartedness and overlooking evident flaws.
