I could go on and on about how much I love Kings Quest, so I will. King's Quest is the surprise hit of 2015 so far. Chapter one is filled with so many exciting moments, fun puzzles, hilarious characters, and a unique sense of awe and fantasy. I felt like I was in a wonderfully animated cartoon based on a classic series and I couldn't stop smiling or laughing the entire time.

7 / 10.0 - Godzilla
Jul 22, 2015

[W]hile Godzilla might be an average game in many ways, it's also a very faithful Godzilla experience, and one that fans and will treasure having in their collection.

If you love exploration, mystery, even a sense of wonder and awe, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter provides all this and more. For the 4 to 6 hours the game lasts, it's definitely a memorable experience.

7.5 / 10.0 - Tachyon Project
Jul 16, 2015

Tachyon Project seems to take a lot of inspiration from Geometry Wars but puts its own spin on things. Taking cues from one of the best twin stick shooters ever made, isn't a bad thing in the slightest.

6.5 / 10.0 - Traverser
Jul 15, 2015

If you like the idea of a gravity gun and you enjoy puzzle games with unique settings, Traverser is a no brainer, even though you'll need to use yours to finish it.

9 / 10.0 - Quiplash
Jul 6, 2015

Otherwise, Quiplash provided tons of laughter and its ease of use makes it pick up and playable by almost anyone. The ability to stream and get people in the game is another great feature and really can liven up any party, online or off. Just like in real life though, who you bring to the party will determine just how crazy it ultimately gets.

I wasn't left feeling dead cold after finishing, it and I appreciated the simplistic nature to the game. Minimal frustration, some nice exploration, and able to be finished in a single sitting if you have a few hours to spare. This ghost story isn't the most memorable, but it doesn't have to be. Whispering Willows was an enjoyable time, and for those that like a decent story, side scrolling exploration, and the idea of talking to ghosts, I'd recommend it.

Badlands offers local co-op, multiplayer, and a ton of levels to keep players going, yet it feels like a game made for quick access, and I found myself getting rather bored after 30 minutes of play. On a mobile system this game feels right at home with in its casual play time, but I can't help but feel a little alienated with it on consoles.

6.5 / 10.0 - Mega Coin Squad
May 28, 2015

If you're looking for fun game to play with others, this might provide it in small doses. Yet in a game that wants players to save every coin, you might want to do that before deciding if you want to spend yours.

8.5 / 10.0 - Lifeless Planet

Lifeless Planet is an absolute gem. While there might not be much reason to replay the game other than to re-experience the adventure, it's one experience I won't soon forget.

5.5 / 10.0 - Infinity Runner
Apr 30, 2015

I had fun with the game in limited capacity, but overall every time I was getting into the grove, the lack of lives or just the boring story took me out of it. Granted there are a few other modes besides the story, including a true endless runner mode which I got the most fun out of, but it's ultimately a game that I wanted to enjoy more then I actually did.

8 / 10.0 - JumpJet Rex

While Jump Jet Rex might not be the longest game ever, it's hard to deny the amount of fun there is to be had with a Dino and a pair of jet boots.

3 / 10.0 - Tower of Guns

The idea of a FPS rogue game where you earn new abilities as you try and make your way to the top sounds ever so promising, but with all the issues I had with it, I've already bailed out.

Xenoblade Chronicles on the NEW 3DS system is a marvel. It offers one of the most complete, fascinating, and downright huge RPGs experiences you can fit in your pocket. It's great to see a release on another console to give new players a chance to experience it, granted you still need to own the new handheld. I feel nothing major is lost in the port to the smaller screen and in doing so, you now have one of the best RPGS ever made literally at your fingertips on the go. It doesn't get much better than that.

9 / 10.0 - Axiom Verge
Mar 31, 2015

Axiom Verge brings its own style here and offers a familiar yet totally different experience on an alien world, with an eerie soundtrack and a story that is interesting, if a bit light. Fans of heavy exploration, no hand holding and interesting weapons will have an absolute blast, and when they're finished can jump right back into the game with its speed runner mode. Axiom Verge is fantastic addition to any fan of the genre. Review copy of game provided by publisher.

I walked away from Bladestorm surprised and also eager to jump back into. If the gameplay doesn't dig its hooks into you after a few hours, you might find little reason to keep going. Players that get sucked in though will already be thinking of their next plan of attack.

This might not be a main entry in the Resident Evil series, but it doesn't mean it can't compare to the best. Revelations offers quite the punch when it comes to quality and content.

Kirby offers a fantastic experience for the amount of content it provides and the price. The only caveat is that you will be forced to play the game strictly on the gamepad, which is a shame as the beauty shines through on your TV screen the most. You can attempt to play while looking at the TV and I'm sure some folks will be able to get some semblance of accuracy doing so, but for most, it's going to be a gamepad-only affair, and it's a shame. Anyone watching you play via the TV will be able to enjoy the colors and superb visual style the game throws at you the best. If you're ok with this, Rainbow Curse offers an extremely likable and fun stylus adventure for all ages.
