It's great to finally have a game that seems to put you right in the middle of one of H. P. Lovecraft's worlds… that sense of strangeness that lies over everything like a fog that draws you in and embraces you in the oddness of it all is quite compelling. Best played at night with the lights off to truly become immersed in the world of The Sinking City.
Like a spiritual successor to GTA2 American Fugitive will see you running afoul of the law with a touch of Dukes of Hazard thrown in.
A focus shift from the main character to an important supporting character helps to flesh out the world and story whilst giving the player a change of pace.
Overall it’s a fresh change from the standard jump scare, or shooter mechanic that we have so much of today. It’s a compelling story and one worth putting some time into puzzle solving to uncover.
Sniper Elite V2 gets a remaster but the changes might be as easy to spot as a sniper in a ghillie suit.
Mad Max gets a corporate make over in this Games Workshop themed weaponised driving game.
With the charm of retro gaming, take on the violent job of freeing hostages and eliminating bad guys.
Overall it’s quite a bit of fun and the lure to unlock the next item or character is there… but it also ends up being very repetitive very quickly.
A game that might have had retro appeal, had it been a game released about 10 or 20 years ago. As a modern release it seems far too dated to compete with similar titles.
A nice little title to spend some time with
Battle through some of Disney/Pixars best known worlds as you try and save the universe from the Heartless!
Bigger and better and full of life(stock).
The detail that Bethesda have put into this world is nothing short of impressive! You can get hung up on what the game isn't… but there is so much that it is. This is a beautifully realised (and it is quite stunning visually) post apocalyptic role playing game that happens to be online and can be played with other people. If you are more of a single player gamer like me, don't let the online nature of Fallout 76 put you off… it's eminently playable as a single player experience. If you are put off by the issues mentioned at the start then maybe steer clear (or at least wait to see if patches address your concerns), otherwise I'd say grab the Deathclaw by the horns and jump in (but maybe wait till you have powerarmour to do that.).
A linear game with pseudo interaction reminiscent of Return to Zork.
A blast from the past rebuilt for current gaming, with enhancements and improvements to gameplay.
If NBA2K and NBA Jam got mashed together... you'd get NBA2K Playgrounds 2.
Let all your space horror stories come true as you find yourself (nearly) alone in the silence of space.
Climb into your Mech and take on the overwhelming forces in your path.
Cyber punk with a Money for nothing visual flair.
Tom Clancy like turn based strategy in the vein of X-Com.
