8 / 10.0 - KAMIKO

That being said, I can easily admit that the game is super short and the levels won't change on future playthroughs. If you have seen the content once, you will know the game inside out. That might a sticking point for some, but the various characters do make it worth your while.

8.5 / 10.0 - Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Apr 25, 2017

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a decent upgrade for anyone in the need of one. It has a very solid Battle Mode that made me more happy than I thought. Next to that, it has all of the content you adored from the original plus the downloadable content baked into it.

The game felt somewhat on the easier side and the dungeons could've had a little more to do. Those are minor things in a journey that doesn't slow down from start to finish. If you're here to be enchanted, Fire Emblem Echoes delivers in spades.

9 / 10.0 - Arms
Jun 7, 2017

ARMS is one of my favorite games on the Nintendo Switch so far. With a large slew of ARMS and fun gameplay options, it leaves me very happy. While I wished that I enjoyed the button controls and Helix more, there is still enough to keep you engaged.

7 / 10.0 - Runbow Pocket

Where this brought the Wii U version to new heights, it feels here like an afterthought. It is hugely disappointing to see it locked behind an online section that will get barely used. Waiting hours for players to come online isn't exactly my idea of fun.

6.5 / 10.0 - Flip Wars
Jul 11, 2017

My suggestion if you're interested is to wait until after it has gotten some updates. It's not like this is currently void of fun, but it surely needs a spicing up. As of right now, I can only recommend Flip Wars to those who play a lot in tabletop and TV modes with other people, this is where the game shined brightest for me.

7 / 10.0 - Phantom Trigger

The enemies and objectives don't really change for the most part, but at least they give you a reasonable challenge. The game is perfectly fine with those looking for something quick and flashy, but don't expect something you will remember months from now. With 6 hours on the counter, it's over before you know it.

The developers at Ubisoft Milan and Paris took their time to figure what works about strategy games and elevated it to a form that can be enjoyed by many. Add to that the pure cleverness of the adventure, and what results in an absolute must play for Nintendo Switch owners. This is the best game the Rabbids have starred in and they only needed Mario to achieve it.

You are asked to make a boring leap of faith in the hopes of finding rewards. Everything else about the game works. Exploring the world hasn't been better than this and the style just pops on the Nintendo 3DS. Newcomers and veterans alike will find a lot to love, but also need to go in with lowered expectations about the combat.

10 / 10.0 - SteamWorld Dig 2
Sep 20, 2017

Dig 2 isn't just another SteamWorld game, but the best one in the series so far. It blows the original out of the water with such ease that it seems almost simple.

I enjoyed my time with Layton's Mystery Journey. The puzzles and investigative work are enjoyable as usual, but that special sauce from previous Layton titles has been left out.

7 / 10.0 - Robonauts
Oct 11, 2017

Where it makes up for this deficiency is in its multiplayer offerings, which provide a lot of excitement. It changes up the campaign maps in a significant matter as well as offering a fun time anywhere you are. If you are up for that, then Robonauts could be the experience you're looking for.

8 / 10.0 - Earth Atlantis

A couple of the bosses certainly need to be patched and this is why I can't recommend playing through Hunter Mode right now. With all due respect, dealing with a couple of those bosses is just a little too much. If you're prepared for a few difficulty spikes and still want to go on a grand adventure, Earth Atlantis will provide a fun experience.

Farming Simulator - Nintendo Switch Edition does exactly what it sets out to do: The franchise makes a solid splash on the system with the benefits of last year's release. The vast amount of tasks and pure variety in how you can farm is staggering.

That being said, the hectic 13 missions remain a fun romp to get through. The campy story and amount of upgrades only elevate what the developers tried to pull off. Rogue Trooper requires a more aggressive gameplay style than I remember, but I can't really say that I'm bothered by it.

You can fight against others, but only in a Ranked Battle setting, which doesn't bring me the same joy. What doesn't help is that the game didn't ran smooth at all online. Kirby Battle Royale bums me out as an excellent multiplayer game that is buried under a poor direction.

As a follow-up to last year's game, Game Freak has somehow found a way to make Ultra Moon more striking.

That product, mind you, isn't anything majorly exciting and would have benefitted from a bit more content. It's interesting playing an animated version, and if you are in for the commitment you can have a decent time. That being said, there are plenty of party games on the Switch that offer more instant fun.
