The only error I can see here is that The Gardens Between ends on a weird note. This is something that could've been expanded upon, but the developers left us guessing. The complaint is rather minor in the grand scheme of it all as the experience is one that shouldn't be missed.

From beginning to end, Ronimo Games delivered a highly entertaining gameplay experience that most can enjoy. While the single-player campaign could have been a bit more brief, there are many good times to be had. You will be in awe of the game's various mechanics and how it manages to keep you so thoroughly engaged.

9 / 10.0 - Cat Quest II

I do wish that your AI co-op buddy was a bit more competent, but that's a minor gripe. All in all, though, the time flew by and the smile stayed on my face through almost the entire playthrough. This action RPG promises a wonderful treat if you're looking for a pretty dense game.

In that sense, Ring Fit Adventure simply hits it out of the park and never looks back. I couldn't believe how well it scaled to my needs, which Nintendo deserves a lot of praise for. Spectacular stuff through and through.

Atelier Ryza is a journey about making the best of the here and now, and it is beautiful to behold for it. I felt incredibly engaged every step of the way, wanting to see the game through. I hope that this is the beginning of an engrossing new trilogy.

9 / 10.0 - Metro Redux

There are little complaints on both ends, but none of them make the games uninteresting. That being said, there are long loading times afoot and games are a little on the darker side of things. If you have an eye for detail and are in for terrific time, then both 2033 and Last Night are journeys worth having.

They will push you to the limit in a race to save your spaceship. Making mistakes isn't an option and acting fast is your main task. Futuridium is fun through and through, and it deserves your download sooner rather than later.

It is a lovely 2.5D puzzle-platformer where focusing on your surroundings is the highest priority. If you can forgive a few missteps and love to experiment, you will no regrets playing this one to completion.

8.5 / 10.0 - Spy Chameleon
Dec 30, 2014

Spy Chameleon is an excellent game for the Wii U eShop. With a huge variety of puzzles and a constant stream of gameplay ideas, the game never loses steam. You might get a little lost at times and the leaderboards take a while to boot up, but that shouldn't stop you from picking this title. The game gives you multiple reasons to replay levels and that is, above all, simply fun to do. Spy Chameleon is one of those games that never stops being novel and for the right reasons!

The sheer variety of puzzles and fun gameplay mechanics deserve to be experienced at the very least. It doesn't really matter if you do that on Nintendo 3DS or Switch as both run quite excellent. If you're in the mood for deliberate and engaging puzzle game, Captain Toad will keep you busy for quite some time.

Scram Kitty and His Buddy on Rails is quite an engaging game, but you need to learn it to fully understand it. Not everyone will be willing to do that as you need a steady hand to complete the many challenges it offers. Once the gameplay clicks though, you can bask in the brilliant level designs and lovely presentation. Scram Kitty is an amazing, stressful rollercoaster that comes together incredibly well.

Swords & Soldiers II is a follow-up that is exciting for lovers of the original. With three factions containing fresh new faces, this game delivers at being fun solo or with your pals. While the single-player campaign could have longer and the game really deserves online multiplayer, there are still good times to be had for all. You will be in awe with the game's various mechanics and just how well this adventure looks.

Art Academy: Atelier is a great entry in the franchise. With 30 new lessons and some pretty powerful tools, painters of all skill levels will have a good time. While the sharing functions really could have been expanded, the social features really make up for it and allow you to share the fun with the world. Add to that some great visuals and music, you have the best way to relax and unwind on the Wii U.

8.5 / 10.0 - Super Meat Boy

A lot of precision is needed, so having a controller with the buttons closer to one another is important. You won't beat the feeling that it is sort of floaty, but players will get the hang of it eventually. And when you do, it just comes together in a grand way.

The title's biggest accomplishment lies within its gameplay mechanics and how this Wii U version is set up. The GamePad functionality seems simple at first glance, but it is a true game changer in motion. It must be witnessed to be believed!.

8.5 / 10.0 - Mini Metro

That being said, pointer controls would've made this absolutely fantastic for a television. It is neat that you can play up to four people on the television, but the Mini Metro I like is personal and with me anywhere I go. The developers have done a good job translating the magic to the Nintendo Switch, which was honestly my biggest worry going in.

Bravely Second is a well crafted follow-up to a strong role playing game. While the sidequests are a big bummer, the terrible loop at the end of the journey is now fully gone. The mixture of old and new characters, locations and ideas works quite well, though the feeling remains that more could have been done to the world as a whole. That doesn't mean that you won't be charmed by most of what the game offers, because faces like Yew's or Magnolia's are hard to ignore. It helps that it moves along at a solid pace and the battle system is still a joy to behold.

8.5 / 10.0 - In Between

There are some puzzle bits that could've been formed better, but it is a fantastic game in the grand scheme of things. All in all, this is one of those games I would recommend putting on headphones for and kick it back in handheld mode. The intensity of some individual moments are really well suited for a personal display.

Sure, you can play it multiple times and get better, but there is some loss of the magic there. That initial thrill made me pumped to take on the next step, and see what journey had in store for me. The feeling when you overcome the odds is wonderful.
