Given more development time, this could have been the definitive entry in the series, but what we're left with is good enough. Hopefully Kiwami 2 can make some necessary improvements, because the groundwork set by the Dragon Engine is just awesome.

9 / 10.0 - CHUCHEL

CHUCHEL is a great experience that is definitely worth a whirl.

Saying anything else will just ruin the magic that this short, intriguing title holds. With its low price point and great pacing, I'd encourage everyone to check this out. If you're a fan of sci-fi, this is almost a no-brainer, but even people who are typically not interested in visual novels would do well to try Subsurface Circular for themselves. The organic integration of puzzle elements makes for one of the best detective games around.

3.5 / 10.0 - Rad Rodgers
Feb 25, 2018

The foundation for something better is still here, but Slipgate Studios has reworked Rad into something that isn't worth spending your cash on.

Age of Empires: Definitive Edition is a very faithful remake that captures every single quality of the original title. That means you're getting a wonderful new presentation alongside all of the blemishes of the past.

While not terrible, Sky Force Reloaded asks too much of the player with too little to give back. With some reworking to the exorbitant grind, I would maybe recommend this, but there are far better shoot 'em ups on the Switch that deserve your time and attention.

Shadow of the Colossus lives up to the legacy of the original and provides a brand new presentation for fans to experience. Newcomers will get the best playing version of the title while veterans will get the version they always dreamed of. The game is smoother to play, the presentation is top notch and the minimalist storytelling from the original isn't embellished or altered. This is exactly what you'd want from a remake and I couldn't be happier with the final result.

7.5 / 10.0 - Genital Jousting
Jan 18, 2018

Genital Jousting is crude, for certain, but it showcases how imaginative and creative gaming can truly be. When I was a child, I never thought I'd have the fortune of playing as a flaccid dick in a game, but look where we are.

75 / 100 - Pinball FX3
Jan 15, 2018

Pinball FX 3 is a great update to a well renowned series that deserves a spot on any pinball player's Switch. That it has such a vast DLC collection also ensures you're unlikely to ever need another pinball simulation in the near future.

80 / 100 - SiNKR
Dec 16, 2017

SiNKR doesn't redefine the puzzle game genre, but it provides a solid entry with some genuinely clever puzzles and a simple to understand interface. Anyone can play this, even without knowing what a video game is.

Having beaten Back From Hell, I don't really know what else to say. I hope to never return to this game and I wouldn't want anyone to waste their time and money on the endeavor. Whether that is harsh or not, Slain on the Switch is not the version you should buy. If you want to have any hope of enjoying the game, get any of the other versions available (all of which run at 60 FPS and offer customizable controls).

80 / 100 - High Hell

With a cheap price, you really can't ask for a better deal. High Hell hits some great highs and does so without being padded out for length. Definitely worth a playthrough.

Quick note; the eShop version of Monopoly suffers from a loading bug that causes the game to stall at any load screen. The solution, for the time being, is to completely restart your Switch. I did encounter this issue a couple of times, but a patch is promised to be on the way.

Super Mario Odyssey may not reinvent the Mario formula, but it is a supremely satisfying adventure with a plethora of content and a penchant for the zany. This is a must own for Switch owners and fans of platforming.

Seeing as how even the online modes have weird time limits or aren't fully ready, Gran Turismo Sport is honestly not worth looking into at the moment. Maybe this will mature into a better racing game in the future (much like Driveclub), but you can presently get so much better on PS4 that I'm not sure why GT Sport wasn't delayed to add some more content. The ulta realism isn't enough to justify the cuts done to the core GT gameplay of the past.

Bullet Soul Infinite Burst doesn't reinvent the bullet hell wheel, but it offers a very approachable game for newcomers, as well as a highly addictive gameplay loop for those who get sucked in. It may not be a classic, but it's certainly good fun.

I really hope that Turn 10 takes an honest look at what these prize crates have done to Forza, since the game is otherwise solid. I would have an easier time accepting some flaws if I could make honest progress in the career mode or have a chance in hell of acquiring the cars in a reasonable amount of time. Instead, Forza 7 just makes me think of how much time I'll be wasting and what else I could be doing instead of racing on Spa for the 90th time.

70 / 100 - Road Redemption
Oct 7, 2017

This may not be the best classic revival around, but Road Redemption is a lot of fun with a pretty well implemented roguelike system. The inclusion of multiplayer is also sure to make this a great party game for some likeminded friends.

3 / 10.0 - Pylon: Rogue

70 / 100 - Puzzle Dating
Sep 16, 2017

For $1, I cannot be too harsh on Puzzle Dating. It doesn't offer a lot of content and it mostly exists as a joke, but it's fun and cute enough to get by on charm alone.
