Smoke and Sacrifice is an involving, vast and well crafted game that joins RPG elements to those of survival horror to create a world that is both beautiful and disturbing to explore, coupled with a long and compelling lifespan and an impressive degree of interactivity with the surroundings. One of the most original and significant games of this generation on the Nintendo Switch.

8 / 10 - ICEY
Jun 18, 2018

ICEY brings to the Nintendo Switch a fun and engaging mix of platforms and RPG along with a very compelling combat system. As if that was not enough, the interaction between the player and the narrator is nothing short of amazing and despite Icey's rather short lifespan, the bickering with the narration and its incessant instructions more than makes up for the game's length.

Jun 27, 2018

Featuring simple but effective controls and some repetitiveness-preventing measures, it loses out when it comes to its sound environment, as it could be much better, especially when it assumes such an importance in the puzzle solving component, and it lacks a certain sense of purpose.

Based on the two movies of the Incredibles line, the Nintendo Switch is getting a game that features LEGO's and Disney's signature audiovisual quality, a fun, open world to explore with plenty of unlockable content, and an interesting plot full of humorous elements. If its loading times were shorter and there were less technical flaws on its execution, as well as a more involving combat system, then LEGO The Incedibles would be an instant classic, rather than just falling short of it.

5 / 10 - Neverout
Aug 1, 2018

As the Nintendo Switch has no virtual reality capabilities, this means Neverout cannot fully live up to its expectations. Despite its interesting challenges and its good difficulty curve, Neverout feels like it's not at its true level.

7 / 10 - Runbow
Aug 2, 2018

Runbow is bringing its qualities again to a Nintendo console. Thanks to its simple gameplay and multiplayer mode, as well as to its online capabilities and availability of characters from other indie games, Runbow is a fun and addictive game that could be longer when it comes to its single player mode but it's certainly a welcome addition to the Nintendo Switch catalogue.

8 / 10 - Flat Heroes
Aug 8, 2018

Flat Heroes may look like a very simple game but beneath its unassuming exterior lies a puzzler that features a very well designed progression curve, a fine multiplayer mode, an impressive amount of challenges and a long lifespan that stretches beyond that of its counterparts.

6 / 10 - Punch Club
Aug 13, 2018

Punch Club features an interesting mix of management, social simulation and some JRPG elements in a game that features an interesting gameplay and whose 16-bit resemblances include several 90s pop culture references. It doesn't fully materialize its promises, as it quickly starts feeling repetitive and at one point, it doesn't quite feel interactive enough to be an outstanding experience.

The game's rather slow pace may not please everyone but this is a good proposal that has the merit of making a point and click game something enjoyable on a gaming console.

7 / 10 - Unexplored
Aug 21, 2018

Unexplorer: Unlocked Edition is a roguelike that intends to bring elements found in epic adventrure and RPG games while being light on plot and other devices in order to make its experience quick, simple and immediate. And it works, as the game features all the right elements commonly featured in other games of its kind and also brings additional content that was previously available on purchase. It also features a rather disappointing multiplayer component, as well as too long loading times and a sub-par sound environment, but the right elements are there.

All-Star Fruit Racing gets it right when it comes to game modes and umber of tracks - wide and varied, along with a lush visual outlook. Less fortunate, though, are its repetitiveness, the lack of a sensation of speed, its long loading times and an overall mediocre soundtrack. All together, these factors make All-Star Fruit Racing a more passable name in the world of kart racing.

Super Destronaut DX can bring a tribute to Space Invaders to a contemporary system. Thanks to several game modes and to classic controls, it's nearly impossible to skip. The game does it job right when it comes to intuitive controls, as well as to an updated leaderboard. Unfortunately there is not a lot to do when it comes to the game's lifespan and its price.

7 / 10 - Heroki
Sep 2, 2018

Heroki is a fun and entertaining 2D platformer that may not bring anything groundbreaking but is good at what it does. Thanks to its simple and accessible controllers, competent level design and a heap of collectible items to obtain, Hiroki provides a simple but not any less enjoyable platforming experience in the Nintendo Switch catalog.

6 / 10 - Manual Samuel
Sep 9, 2018

Because of its topic and to the absurdity of having to perform countless everyday acts, the game ends up becoming a hilarious act in itself. Unfortunately it doesn't quite achieve the same success when it comes to its short lifespan. Its strange motion controls make it feel very unusual and a high price tag means that this is not the most recommended piece of gaming at the moment, despite the marvelous humour and overall presentation.

6 / 10 - State of Mind
Sep 13, 2018

State of Mind boasts an interesting and compelling plot, as well as a gem of an art style and multiple characters to choose from. However, it also exhibits some visible flaws, such as a rather slow-paced, predictable plot and puzzles which are all too linear. Overall, this is a good effort but which requires some improvement if it does not want to demotivate its players too early on.

5 / 10 - One Strike
Sep 16, 2018

While this helps to make the game very accessible and easy to get into, it also means One Strike suffers from a very low level of ambition and that it doesn't really try to stand out in any other way. Its characters are also designed in a way that doesn't stimulate experimenting and visually, the game would struggle against examples of generations past.

6 / 10 - Mugsters
Sep 19, 2018

Mugsters may seem like a very unorthodox mix at first but the truth is, this puzzler set in an open world with elements of platformer and which uses vehicles works better than any of its descriptions would make it seem. While the game has some fluidity problems and there could be more attention to detail on some elements, it has some interesting features and an original level design which will make players satisfied during short gaming sessions.

6 / 10 - Morphies Law
Sep 21, 2018

The concept of Morphies Law does not quite fit in the available descriptions and that can only be good for a game to stand out thanks to the originality of its gameplay mechanics, something which Morphies Law deserves with all merit. This does not mean the experience is free of criticism and the game's rather short content and limitations to its local multiplayer experience, as well as lack of clarity regarding cross platform compatibility, end up harming Morphies Law's potential.

7 / 10 - Planet Alpha
Sep 23, 2018

Planet Alpha will grab the player's attention with its visually stunning environment, variety of backdrops and marvelous fauna. While the game's lifespan is rather short and the difficulty level could be more challenging, Planet Alpha has an accessible gameplay that all audiences can enjoy and is undoubtedly one of the best puzzle games of the year.
