Super Destronaut DX Critic Reviews
View All (16 total)With nothing to keep you coming back after you've earned all the achievements, the game will sadly only be played for an hour or so before it is put back on the shelf and forgotten about.
If Space Invaders floats your intergalactic boat, Super Destronaut DX will definitely scratch your itch and the attempts to nudge and wink its way through your fond memories of neon lights and electro tunes are admirable. However, unless you're a high score hunter or a multiplier maniac who has had their fill of more interesting shooters or music-based games on the system like Just Shapes And Beats or Lumines Remastered, Super Destronaut DX will end up being a brief time killer, but not much else.
Super Destronaut DX can bring a tribute to Space Invaders to a contemporary system. Thanks to several game modes and to classic controls, it's nearly impossible to skip. The game does it job right when it comes to intuitive controls, as well as to an updated leaderboard. Unfortunately there is not a lot to do when it comes to the game's lifespan and its price.

The DX is a difference here, making for a more enjoyable game all around. It's had a modest price increase, but still comes in at only $4.99, with enhancements to justify the cost. Super Destronaut DX is a simple, but fun game. It's not the sort that you'll play at length (to limit repetition) but it does make for an entertaining way to pass some time.
