Is this game worth checking out? Absolutely. Is it worth the $59.99 price point? No, especially when you consider how much Square Enix charged for previous remastered titles which had multiple games in the box.
At the end of the day, Umbrella Corps was a game that nobody asked for. It’s bad outweighs the good and because few people are playing, has longer wait times than a two day old competitive online shooter should.
The amount of things to unlock certainly gives the game a vast amount of replay value, especially for players that like to collect things. However, the incredibly poor online component means that you’ll be unlocking those items through frustratingly slow online matches, or by only grinding offline battles.
The story of Final Fantasy XIII and its characters is concluded in Lightning Returns, but both the ending, and the road to it don't form a cohesiveness that you would expect from a Final Fantasy title.
Overall, Resident Evil 0 HD appears to be a cleaner remaster than its predecessor. However, the enjoyment of the actual gameplay is hurt by the inventory system which ultimately makes it one of the less enjoyable games in the series.
What it really comes down to for State of Decay 2 is that unless you like games with slow resource gathering grinds, and don’t mind an odd bug here or there, this game isn’t going to be for you. The multiplayer can be enjoyable with friends, but at the end of the day, it just barely sets itself above the previous game in the series.
Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite is an addition to a series that adds deeper gameplay mechanics at the removal of some of the characters and aesthetic that made the game popular in the first place.
If you’re a big online person, Resident Evil 6 is worth picking up as we know its multiplayer modes will be expanding. However if it’s the story you’re after, you might be better off sitting this one out, you’re not missing much.
The wide variety of jobs coupled with ability mutations leaves room for a lot of experimenting but the lack of quest variety and the amount of grinding required to obtain rare items means that you may not have much enjoyment in doing so.
At the end of the day, Hand of Fate is a solid time waster because of it's sheer randomness offered by the decks you use. The more you play, the more cards you unlock, the more random the game becomes.
The idea of running back and forth across a large area may not be appealing to everyone. However, after setting aside the weirdly, and wonderfully confusing story and a few tense BT encounters, I found my time with Death Stranding to often be a more relaxing, chill, experience that I would recommend you check out.
While last year’s Resident Evil 2 took the story and settings of the original game and expanded them into a finely tuned masterpiece, Resident Evil 3 feels like it took a much different approach. The story, and the path it takes from beginning to end, has seen some substantial changes compared to the original to the point where it’s sometimes difficult to see any semblance of its source material under this new coat of polygons and paint.
My time with Paper Beast left me in awe. While I cannot claim to fully understand what it is that I experienced while playing this game, I’m glad that I did experience it. I would encourage others to experience it as well.
It took me a few (full) days to go through almost all of what Control has to offer. While I can’t deny that the game has some issues, I did largely enjoy my time with Control and found myself heavily invested in this strange world.
I am Setsuna is a beautiful, snow-filled love letter to former JRPGs. While the lack of variety may strike some players as boring, it sticks to its aesthetic and presents us with bits and pieces of what we loved from older JRPGs years ago.
The combat is fun, and scaling onto larger monsters makes it even more so. I wasn't sure what to think of this game when I started, but I've quite enjoyed my time with it and I would definitely recommend it.
Its been a long wait for Kingdom Hearts III, and now that it’s finally here, I can say that it’s a solid entry for the series, and definitely one that fans should check out.
At the end of the day, Final Fantasy XV is a great first step into an open world action RPG. However, its various systematic issues and poor story hold it back.
If you're going into this game without knowing what it's about, you might find yourself getting frustrated very quickly. However, if you're looking to play a game and just goof around then Surgeon Simulator is a great choice.
At the end of the day, Resident Evil is still the same great game that it was when it released on the Nintendo Gamecube. The game looks good at 1080p and it's great for those wanting to relive the mansion incident or for those that want to enter the survival horror for the first time.
