6 / 10 - Night Call
Jul 24, 2019

Despite its promise to be a noir investigation in the heart of Paris, Night Call focuses way more on its narrative and brilliant part, at the expense of the mystery itself. Yes, the iconic characters you drive from a neighborhood to another is beautifully written, but we would have hoped to play a real part trying to find the culprit.

Blazing Chrome is more than a simple hommage to the Contra and Metal Slug series : the game also take liberties to offer the genre a new and strong challenger. With two very different styles and a delightful pixelart look, there is much more than meets the nostalgic eyes in this complete run and gun.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 is a sequel in every level : wider, deeper but also way more talkative than the original, the game sticks to the original formula, adding a new multiplayer mode and a first person view. Needless to say, every fan of the Dragon Quest franchise will be pleased by this vast spin-off, but Square Enix should have tried a tiny bit more to make it appealing to all the other players.

On paper, Sea of Solitude is an interesting and introspective story about Kay, a young and lone girl in the throes of depression. But despite many efforts to make us feel for the poor girl, the EA Originals game suffers from way too many draft collisions, and a poor acting that do not tribune an obvious and tearful story.

Trover Saves the universe is a basic platformer/action game, served by Justin Roiland's inimitable style and acting. Therefore, if you want to really enjoy the absurd and surrealist adventure of Trover through the entire space, you'd better really like the guy's tone, otherwise you will find a jolly VR game, not nothing unforgettable.

Cadence of Hyrule is a strong and inspired crossover between The Legend of Zelda and Crypt of the NecroDancer. By mixing the beloved world of Hyrule with the rhythm-based strategy of Brace Yourself's game, the studio delivers a colorful but brief adventure, served by a pleasant and varied soundtrack all along.

Castlevania Anniversary Collection is a true gift for the long-running series :with eight great games to give the players a global look at what made those games classics. With modern tools like quick saves and decent filters, any fan of the Belmont family should here find a good reason to get back the old whip.

By playing for the second time the mythology card, Ubosft delivers a strong, deep, and mostly beautiful extension for last year's greek odyssey. Switching between Layla and Kassandra/Alexios might be tedious in the begenning, but the gorgeous environment awaiting is worth the effort, thanks to an interesting plot, free exploration and a very correct length.

5 / 10 - Venture Kid
Apr 30, 2019

Venture Kid tries so much to pay tribute to the old 8 bit games, starting with Mega Man, that it got lost along the way. Without any original content to show, this mobile game delivers nothing new on PC or Switch, and lacks the length or level design of the great games it constantly quotes.

20 years after its first release, the Ace Attorney series reminds us how strong and unpredictable Shu Takumi's writing feels. With those linked three episodes, there is no reason not to enter the courtroom once again, even though Capcom could frankly have worked on some tiny options and bonuses to please the fans of old Nick.

Despite its title, Danganronpa Trilogy is nothing but a shiny new PlayStation 4 disc case including both Danganronpa 1 & 2 Reload and Danganronpa V3 : Killing Harmony. So there is nothing more to expect from it than three very good twisted visual novels reunited at last. SO much for the bonuses though.

Final Fantasy VII on Switch could easily have been one of the console's must have : its undeniable charm still works more than 20 years after its original release, but this stingy port still contains the horrible French localization from 1997, as well as the old PS4 bug which constantly reset the beautiful sounds of Nobuo Uematsu.

Following the series trademark mix of platformer and exploration, Yoshi's Crafted World delivers a pleasing experience, thanks to its both sides levels, with plenty of items to find and collect. Unfortunately, the game tries to hard to increase its lifetime by making the player go through the same levels over and over again. With stronger efforts on the soundtrack and and a better emphasis on the technical part, Yoshi's Crafted World could easily have been one of the best episodes of the series.

7 / 10 - Golf Peaks
Mar 23, 2019

Golf Peaks is the very same game which came out on any mobile phone store back in 2018. Without any new addition, Afterburn's puzzle game still delivers quite a dozen of pleasant challenges, thanks to its Joy-Con or touchscreen controls. Unfortunately, the game's difficulty remains unchanged, and those golf puzzles will be done in no time, leaving the player wanting for way much more.

9 / 10 - Baba Is You
Mar 18, 2019

Under the tune of a minimalist semantic puzzle game, Baba is You hides an extraordinary experience that will take you to the frontiers of reason and logic. By inviting the player to constantly change the rules of the game, Arvi Teikari makes every element present on the screen a potential source of interaction, and offers the genre a concept as diabolical as it is audacious.

The Legacy of the First Blade last part delivers a clumsy conclusion to Assassin's Creed Odyssey journey, by recycling the same missions and mechanics once more, only to lead its story to the end and satisfy some fans of the saga. With a single naval battle, a kind of cheated new ability and a bland last boss, this third DLC runs short on idea, and do not reach the quality of Assassin's Creed Odyssey main story.
