50 / 100 - Metal Max Xeno
Oct 4, 2018

Metal Max Xeno has no distinguishing features and there are better RPGs on the PS4 that deserve better attention.

GRIP has good gameplay mechanics, but the whole game doesn't allow them to truly shine. The issues, even if they are small, pile up and keep repeating often enough to the point that affects the entire experience.

Both Persona Dancing games have excellent OSTs, but their gameplay doesn't share the same quality. I honestly hope Atlus keeps producing rhythm games, but they should reinvent their gameplay in future installments.

70 / 100 - Darksiders III
Dec 5, 2018

Darksiders 3 is a good comeback for the series, but its conflicting combat styles and many technical issues prevent it from reaching its true potential.

Earth Defense Force 5 impresses by its scale with hundreds of enemies in each stage, several weapons to test and the courage to make the player learn their particularities to eventually cause destruction according to their wishes. This is certainly one of the most special titles of the year.

Ace Combat 7 stands out, mainly, due to its amazing campaign and gameplay. This was my first contact with the series and AC7 became one of my favorite games for the PS4 and the biggest reason why I will accompany the series in the future.

Senran Kagura Re:Newal is a great starting point for those who wish to know how the series and its story began, while also acting as an excellent preview of what we can expect in Senran Kagura 7.

Death end re;Quest is yet another example of interesting concepts poorly executed. The game shows its true potential during certain moments, however, those are the exception, rather than the rule.

95 / 100 - Devil May Cry 5
Mar 13, 2019

Devil May Cry 5 does justice to the series legacy, even surpassing some of its predecessors in some points. The excellent gameplay makes this one of the best action games ever created and the great narrative makes players pay attention on how the story develops. I'm happy to say that Devil May Cry is back and I hope it stays like that for a long time.

60 / 100 - Xenon Racer
Apr 7, 2019

Xenon Racer has good mechanics at its core, however, the game doesn't utilize them to its full potential, becoming a weak title when compared to the competition.

Nelke & The Legendary Alchemists is a title that celebrates the Atelier series and, at the same time, brings a new experience to its players. Administrating a city and watching it slowly growing and developing was a pleasant experience which I hope Gust keeps improving in the future.

Dangerous Driving doesn't reach the quality of Burnout classics because of its lack of polish, however, it creates an excellent foundation for this series to become the successor the classic series deserves.

Iron Rain makes some changes to core features of the series, bringing a new and somewhat familiar experience. It's a great shooter game due to its absurdity, combat possibilities and, especially, for its cooperative modes with friends.

Puyo Puyo Champions is recommended for competitive players, especially because the title is focused on competition and it should completely satisfy that niche of players.

70 / 100 - Rage 2
May 29, 2019

RAGE 2 has an amazing battle system, but it gives the player few opportunities to properly use it. The open world and its elements aren't well used and, in the worst cases, prevent the game to show its true potential.

Atelier Lulua is a great follow-up to one of the most beloved trilogies in the Atelier series and a great addition to Gust's portfolio of games. Fans of the original trilogy will have an adventure filled with nostalgia due to the characters and places that will be immediately recognizable. Lulua, although it is a follow-up, does a great job to receive new players carefully explaning the game's systems and gradually giving more freedom to the player.

Dragon Star Varnir shows that Compile Heart/Idea Factory have developers with great ideas, but lack the resources to fully elaborate them. It's a good game, but it gives the impression that it could have been much more if it reached its full potential.

Bloodstained was made to satisfy fans demands for a new Castlevania Symphony of the Night, and Ritual of the Night is an excellent spiritual sucessor and a great starting point for a new series.

90 / 100 - Judgment
Jul 3, 2019

Judgment is an excellent game that reminds me a bit too much of its origin. Yakuza fans will get a different, but familiar experience, while newcomers will have a great starting point to know the work of one of SEGA's best development team.

Super Neptunia RPG is a weird game that, even being pretty, doesn't use the strong points of the series in which it is based on. The story and gameplay don't do anything to stand out and the visuals alone aren't enough to carry this entire adventure.
