Robby Bisschop's Reviews
Wavetale is a short adventure game with a focus on exploration and its story that tackles topics like greed, war and loss. what’s amazing is that it wraps it in a wholesome and inclusive package that provided me with a surprisingly lighthearted experience. If you have Stadia, check this out!
Stick it to the Man is a witty, humouristic title with a striking cardboard aesthethic. The jokes are genuinely funny and the puzzles play themselves out in ways you didn’t see coming. It may only be about 5-6 hours long, but you’ll have a good time from start to finish.
Narcosis is a game that draws you into its aquatic world of horrors and makes you hold your breath until you come out the other end. It's just a shame that you could almost finish it in that one breath, as it can be completed in about four hours. All in all we shouldn't hold this against it as not every game has to be a forty hour open-world epic. In the end, this brief adventure was well worth experiencing. Now excuse me while I go out and buy a VR set to dive back in!
Tekken 7 is a great entry in the series that doesn’t take many chances in the gameplay department but has a bold story-mode and a very addictive Treasure Mode that will keep you coming back to the game time after time.
Far Cry 5 is a huge game with plenty to do and a natural sense of progression. The main story is all over the place and requires plenty suspension of disbelief but it still ends up being enough to drive the narrative and it'll keep you coming back until you've completed all it has to offer.
It's an easy game and there were some minor issues, but if you're a big Disney fan or if you have kids it's the perfect game to add to your Xbox One catalog.
One of Sairento’s taglines is “VR was made for this” and I find myself agreeing with the statement. The mobility made possible here just feels so right that I expect a lot of other VR games to take notice and copy it. If you own a VR set, you should definitely have this game in your library!
Marie’s Room is a very short, story-driven game in which you investigate objects in a single room and reminisce about long-forgotten memories. It’s also 100% free to download from Steam and perfect if you’re looking for a brief experience to sink your teeth in.
I can never get enough of this game: it looks great, plays great and I just can't help wanting to complete everything in it 100% so I'm always happy to see new content.
ONRUSH is a fantastically fun game that reminds us why we love to get behind the virtual wheel and boost/takedown our way through the opposition.
Youropa turns the world of puzzle-platformers upside down and will make you tilt your head sideways in awe throughout the experience.
Stay Safe was a nice surprise. I hadn’t heard about it prior to reviewing it so it’s possibly in need of a better marketing campaign (and a more google-friendly title) but don’t let that stop you from giving it a try yourself. For a cheap asking price you’re getting a game that’ll test your mettle and which offers plenty of replay value.
Rogues Like Us is an addictive roguelike that keeps you coming back for more even after beating the main story. The different weapons, buffs and trinkets make each playthrough unique and there are plenty of items to collect for the completionists out there. It’s pleasing to look at, even more enjoyable to listen to and a bliss to play.
Space Pirate Trainer is an incredibly fun wave-based shooter that will give you quite the work-out dodging all the incoming enemy fire. Leaderboard addicts will have a blast finding the optimal weapon-loadout and improving their run. It's an easy recommended for everyone with a VR set, especially at its low asking price
Just Dance 2020 has one of the best tracklists yet, amazing choreographies and flat-out stunning animations for both the dancers and the backgrounds. You don’t have to look much further if you’re searching for the perfect party game. You’d be hard-pressed not to have a great time with this game.
Lost Ember offers an emotional tale of discovery set in a visually stunning world. The possession mechanic is interesting and allows for some unique setpiece experiences while the huge amount of collectables offer some longevity beyond the four-hour story experience.
The Almost Gone is a wonderful point-and-click adventure with a charming style yet it has a dark, mature story to tell. The puzzles are clever and satisfying but you could find yourself frustrated if you get lost or if you missed an obvious item to interact with. Definitely worth a single playthrough!
#RaceDieRun is hard as hell and will really test your mettle. It offers plenty of content and a lot of replay value, especially considering its low asking price.
Just Dance 2021 is a fun game to play with the entire family. It’s one of the most accessible titels imaginable and you’re sure to have a blast, but the included songs will soon outstay their welcome and you’ll kind of be forced to check out the Just Dance Unlimited subscription.
Cubism is a zen VR puzzling experience that is easy to get into yet that will tickle your grey matter in interesting ways. It doesn’t have much of a replay value, but the 60 puzzles are well worth the low investment. A must-play for every Quest owner!
