Finding out the dark past that the main character tries so hard to keep bottled up is, at times, intriguing. However, the repetitive task of cherry-picking customers to come into the prestigious club will prove to be dull for many, and simply won't be enough to keep you playing in order to see one of the multiple endings. Still, there isn't another time-management title like this on Switch right now, so if you're looking for something with a very different pace and with an adult theme, you might gain some enjoyment.

Followers of melancholic-looking puzzle titles who like to sit down and cosy up on a rainy Sunday afternoon and test their brain with some slow-paced, solo gaming sessions will want to give this one a spin. The title does a good job of churning out challenges that will keep you entertained for hours at a time. However, if a deep story that whisks you off your feet with a meaningful narrative, tight plot and likeable characters is more your bag, then Flood of Light isn't the title for you. We recommend spending your cash on something like Candle: The Power Of The Flame to scratch your 2D Puzzler itch.

What fans of the first game ultimately hankered for has made its way into this sequel, and quite rightly so, with this new title overcoming some of those baffling design decisions. Make no mistake, though, newcomers to the franchise will find it easy to get sucked into the small but impressionable world of Guns, Gore & Cannoli 2.

If you're planning a get together for some mindless fun with three friends who are seeking quick rounds of colourful, straightforward and light co-op dungeon crawling action, NoReload Heroes is a sharing platter that can be devoured in just a few bites, but will still leave you wanting more.

Switch owners that are longing for a slower, more methodical approach to 2D puzzle platforming will want to give Candle: The Power Of The Flame a spin - even more so if they're seeking a tough challenge that's stacked to the rafters with whimsical charm and a striking art style. The title may well be home to some clunky controls and ferocious difficulty spikes from the moment you take control of Teku, but the immense sense of achievement married with what feels more like a piece of art than a video more than makes up for its shortfalls.

7 / 10 - Lanota
Jun 25, 2018

Lanota's particular attention to bringing a new way to play a dynamic rhythm game by offering a circular playing field pays off and with a tracklist longer than your arm, you'll be hard pushed to get through this one quickly.

8 / 10 - Pode
Jun 21, 2018

With its subtle, relaxing and appropriate musical score, gloriously soft visuals and a simple yet emotional story, Pode succeeds in offering a generous and humble cooperative yet challenging 8-10 hours of content that will shine brightly - especially in among the assortment of fast-paced and frantic multiplayer games that we have right now on the eShop.

8 / 10 - ICEY
Jun 6, 2018

Battling your way through screens of mechanical enemies to reach the final boss won't take very much time at all, but exploring the compact yet detailed world around you is enjoyable. Hidden are some thought-provoking snippets of narrative that touch on the hardships of developing games, for example, and the clever delivery of its storytelling is, at times, ingenious. However, the simplistic approach to battle and a confusing and convoluted story plot could prove bothersome for some who are looking for something a little more in-depth. ICEY does, however, succeed in providing quick, tight blasts of fun that's sure to please fans of the genre that are looking for something a little different.

The bright, flashing lights - and admittedly catchy thumping club music - coupled with an eye-watering amount of modes and game/bot customisation isn't quite enough to dress up what essentially feels like a promising idea that's vastly undercooked. A little more time in the oven - and with a more appetising and interesting main course - and Disco Dodgeball could have been a much stronger option on the small, but rapidly growing menu of online-focused games for Switch.

Dripping with charm and frequently laugh-out-loud funny, Animal Super Squad is a good example of when physics-based gameplay is done right. There are some elements such as boss battles, multiplayer and HD rumble that aren't in this game and the lack of these features will be bothersome for some Switch users. However, this little gem is a formidable first entry into the indie scene for the YouTube personality and positively paves the way to what's looking to be a successful new venture for DoubleMoose.

4 / 10 - Bouncy Bob
May 6, 2018

Bouncy Bob attempts to demonstrate how a simple idea of a one-button control mechanic can be fun and accessible. But it's met with shortfalls aplenty.

From the outset, Masters Of Anima, tries its utmost to engage with a different world that's ruled by a unique magic, bare-bones lore and a bunch of awkwardly portrayed and forgettable characters. The floundering voice acting and clunky script, coupled with a cringe-worthy story that's more embarrassing than your drunk uncle dancing at a wedding, grates quickly. The title certainly won't hold your hand when it comes to defeating the only enemy in the game, which could prove to be tedious for some. Masters Of Anima is no Pikmin, but if you're looking for a fantasy land filled with tough enemy encounters and a game that's relatively straightforward, then this one is for you.

8 / 10 - Shadow Bug
Apr 3, 2018

Shadow Bug is a welcome breath of fresh air in a stuffy virtual space that's up to the ceiling with 2D platformers. Experiencing the title with detached Joy-Cons on the big screen, as opposed to utilising the touchscreen; you'll be cheerfully surprised by its unique art style and play method. Slicing your way to the end boss won't take more than a couple of hours for some, but for those wanting to beat global high scores and to collect all three shurikens per level will, beyond a shadow of a doubt, get more bang for their buck.

With its cute and delightfully grotesque exterior, Slayaway Camp: Butcher's Cut is an easily accessible and addictive puzzler that throws in '80's references where it can, by the bucket-load. It's jam-packed with unlockables, host to some brilliant synth-heavy music and doesn't shy away from some truly gruesome but equally hilarious murder sequences. There's plenty of substance here that keeps us coming back for more, and with the help of a continuous trickle of silly and over-the-top horror humour, we are hard-pushed not to crack a smile every time we give it a stab.

7 / 10 - Bit Dungeon+
Mar 13, 2018

Bit Dungeon Plus does exactly what it says on the tin and it does it fairly well. The title won't draw you in with an intricate story of medieval rivalry and bloodshed involving a vast fantasy world, but the pick-up and play nature of the game will.
