"The only problem with the experience, is the performance, a problem I can’t look past, and a problem I hope the developers do acknowledge through an upcoming update, or at least give an explanation as to why their game was limited to a single core on a CPU. If they can fix that, then this game has it all, and it’s 10-hour adventure is – regardless – a quite remarkable one that uses Greek mythos as its foundation."

One of the best and worst things about Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain is that it continues to use a tried and true formula, only changing a few necessary elements, and adding in a few minor ones to make itself really stand out from the rest. While it sounds as shameful as it could be, it isn’t, and it’s a welcome change in a series that had begun to grow stagnant over the past few releases.

7 / 10.0 - Fear the Wolves
Feb 19, 2019

One thing I do hope is that Fear the Wolves gets the attention it needs from Battle Royale fans or fans of games with more than meets the eye that awaits those that give the game a chance. After all, this is a game I recommend regardless and I hope that its player base steadily grows given time. Until then, I can’t justify a score higher than the one you see below.

While it’s daring, it’s fun, and ultimately the darkest entry within the Compile Heart library, I often felt my experience marred by the need to endlessly retrace my steps while wondering around maze-like dungeons for hours on end. However, it will take quite a bit of patience to get where the game itself really stands out as one of their strongest.

Sadly, I’ve found that the local play with bots or a couple of friends is the only way to truly enjoy the game at the time of writing this review. Luckily, however, that’s a common occurrence and I’m more than happy to sneak my way through the shadows, besting a pal, through the chaos that ensues match-in and match-out.

7.5 / 10.0 - Chernobylite
Dec 3, 2021

I must confess, Chernobylite is one of those games I was unsure about giving a chance. It was one that I’d watched streamers play, ultimately unsure about how I would feel about it myself. Instead, once I dove in, I was compelled to keep going despite the performance hitches. I was interested in seeing just how far the game could go, what experiences it could deliver, and just how much more unique the experience could be.

The only part it disappoints in - is the story itself, which is short, almost forgettable, all-the-while, somehow enjoyable once you really dig beneath the surface and begin connecting the dots together in the universe that THQ Nordic has built.

Regardless, this will be a must for those that enjoy a good fighting game, but the price might be a bit steep for a re-release to some. In the end, it’s at least a nice reminder that SNK has always released a solid experience when it comes to fighting games and doesn’t seem to stop doing so in the years to come.

7.5 / 10.0 - HARDCORE MECHA
Feb 16, 2020

Ringing in at just $19.99 on the PlayStation Store, it’s hard not to recommend HARDCORE MECHA. With countless hours of replayability in the singleplayer portion of the game, a chance for some local competitive play and an ability to try some multiplayer fun, you’ll find HARDCORE MECHA to be a dish best served warm and one to not let pass you by.

7.5 / 10.0 - Into the Dead 2

The only complaint I actually have is that progression is locked behind challenges. I’d love to have seen a level up system in place that allowed you to get items that would help with your progression

While I’m sure there have been minor changes made from the original release, I still have to say this has been a rather fun experience, one that I’m glad that I didn’t turn down since it seems that this game is a small step in the direction of bringing the series back to life.

7.5 / 10.0 - Hyperforma
Oct 17, 2019

One of the things I have to appreciate about this game, if I’m going to be honest, is the fact that Fedor Danilov seems to absolutely love the Atari classic that seemed to inspire Hyperforma as a whole. In his game, he takes the most basic building blocks to Blockbreaker, pieces them together, and builds them up from there.

When it comes to delivering content to their games, Omega Force isn’t shy about what they’re going to give us and Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle just happens to be one of those examples. This expansion/DLC doesn’t just deliver a small set of features but comes with a rather sizable package including brand new characters, weapons, story elements, and enhanced gameplay features from its latest patch and content drop.

Under the fan service and the hard-to-ignore boob jokes, Senran Kagura Burst Re:Newal is an amazingly fun and catchy title that is one that offers the “pick up and go” experience you might expect. The only downside, the fan service could very well hurt it for many fans who prefer not to play one that has as much fan service like this one has.

7.5 / 10.0 - Rage 2
May 23, 2019

RAGE 2 at the end of the day, is a shooter you shouldn't miss as long as you don't mind making it last through exploring a fully fleshed-out open world, that, at times, does feel slightly hollow, but still rather organic to most games of this type through side-missions, daily bounties, and even live-events that crop up rather often.

8 / 10.0 - WRC 10
Oct 22, 2021

It’s hard for me not to admit: KT Racing is certainly some of the leading experts in what they do. They are excellent at delivering memorable experiences, challenging races, and unparalleled attention to detail with tracks in WRC 10. The biggest complaint is that visual flaws do exist, Anniversary mode is excruciatingly painful to some, and it leads to some minor changes we hope get added in the future.

As we wrap up our review, I still feel there is a lot we can discuss about MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries. The career mode being one, but to do that, we’d almost have to write an entire review just on it as the Career Mode, while slightly the same as the story, does have some minor changes to its “story” as well as what it has to offer.

It’s a title that is rich within the lore of Robin Hood and his Merry Men, but also, it’s amazing well scripted, offering a story that is often told through the scenery itself and the overall design of the game. It’s a damn shame, however, that many may not experience Hood: Outlaws & Legends for quite some time, if at all, as it’s one that truly tries to bend the mold, do something new, and offer an experience, unlike anything we’ve seen before.

8 / 10.0 - Samurai Shodown
Mar 29, 2021

For what it’s worth, this is where advanced players come in, as well as a bit of practice needed, to ensure you get there. That aside, this is a title that comes out as a must-have for fighting game enthusiasts looking for a ‘90s-like experience in modern times.

The game itself could be triggering to some, but also, to others, a rather enjoyable experience that is both thought-provoking and artistically creative in every aspect possible. From the spot-on voice acting to character development, Death end re;Quest 2 shines and it easily becomes one of the best stories within the dark JRPG genre, setting on the same line of titles as Persona or Shin Megami Tensei titles.
