Regardless of the issues, it's still too early to say whether or not this arc will pay off. Right now it feels like the story has a firm grasp on the concepts they want to touch on, but they don't know how to tell a narrative that fits it. It's clear the next episode will deal with Cassidy the drifter and we will likely meet their mother at some point, but right now the story is spinning wheels. It will be interesting to see if the climax gives us the ability to see two radically different endings or possibly the most common outcome leading to the future franchise canon but we will have to see where the rails take us.

My Hero One's Justice isn't a bad game; it just doesn't do anything to stand out. Combat is okay for the genre, with the ability to destroy/knock people into buildings being fun, it just isn't enough to sell it. Combine that with poor load times and rather short story and it's a fairly hard sell, even to fans. That being said, if you're a die hard My Hero Academia fan or just really enjoy simple fighters and this isn't enough to discourage you, there is enough to still have fun.

Despite the largely negative review, Next Up Hero can be fun, it's just a very monotonous gameplay loop. All roads involve killing the same enemies, at the same locations, under the same handful of modifiers, to get resources that allow you to do the same thing, just at higher numbers. In a lot of ways, it seems like a fantastic title for the Switch. The idea of finishing a couple levels on the go or slowly chipping away at things works better on a portable console than a home one. But, in the end, Next Up Hero has some interesting ideas, such as using fallen players, including yourself, to help everyone finish the level (everyone who tries is also rewarded if it is successfully completed), it just ends up being an experience that is very simple. If this sounds appealing, odds are you'll likely have a lot of fun, where as if you want something closer to Issac or Gungeon, look elsewhere.

In the end, The Surge: A Walk in the Park feels like it wants to correct the sins of the past, resulting in returning players getting an underwhelming experience. With lackluster armor, easy to defeat foes, a forgettable story and a setting that could've been far more exciting, we're not left with much. Sure, fans will likely enjoy it and it offers a lot for newcomers, even a map for one of the most dreaded sections of the game, it just doesn't do enough to stand out.

The hard thing about The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince is I enjoyed the story and found the ending charming, something that also holds true for the graphics, there just isn't a lot of content. Without using any guide I managed to platinum it in under five hours and could've likely done it even faster if I did. When you figure the experience isn't quite as engaging as previous titles and there simply isn't a ton of content or even the fact cut scenes seem to be unskippable, even if you previously watched them, it's hard to recommend The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince.

Senran Kagura Burst Re:Newal isn't perfect, nor were either of the previous versions, but it is fun in a mindless way. Sure, it doesn't have anywhere near the same options of your standard Dynasty Warriors game, though there is enough to have fun. Add in a cute story, cuter girls and tons of costumes to play around with and it makes for an okay experience. So, if you enjoy the Senran series or want to see where it all began, this is a fantastic choice, though if you want something a little more complicated, I'd wait for something else.

The Ninja Saviors: Return of the Warriors is, at best, okay. It's the type of game you'll probably play a couple of times and never touch again. With a lack of explanations and arguably difficult situations, it doesn't encourage replayability. Don't get me wrong, it's fun, but not fun like The Simpsons arcade or X-Men. Still, if you really want to revisit a past title or just love the genre, it isn't anything special.

Gunfire Reborn is a fun game that suffers from some pretty substantial problems. Online is simply a mess; regardless of where the fault lies, it results in a negative experience for all. Add in a lack of updates and questionable history on Xbox, and it’s a hard sell for Gunfire Reborn. Sure, it has good gunplay, charming weapons, and a lot of build potential; unfortunately, these issues exist. Perhaps things will improve now that more resources can be poured into the console side of things, but for now, I would stick to PC or Xbox via Game Pass.

In a lot of ways, I applaud the concept behind Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars. It’s different, commits fully, and absolutely captures the experience it wants to create. The problem is, a gimmick like that can make it a hard sell. Games as a medium have distinctly different advantages, as well as those games catering to different elements, making it more of a well-executed concept. Naturally, fans of Dungeons and Dragons will likely find the experience comforting and enjoyable, whereas most other players will see a unique-looking game that plays like a rather generic RPG.

here are a lot of things going on in Undernauts: Labyrinth of Yomi. It’s a simple-looking game that relies heavily on a love of the tactical side of RPGs. There is also a strong story, one that does a good job hooking players quickly, though can lose them with frequent tutorials and vague answers. At its core, Undernauts: Labyrinth of Yomi does a decent job in the genre and certainly has its own perks, it just might not be enough to make it stand out next to similar titles or fall short of some of the better games in the genre.

The tricky thing about Dungeon Encounters is that it’s an engaging game. I found myself saying I would do one more floor a couple of times before realizing I had to stop. But, by the same token, there are plenty of games with deeper mechanics and more to it than a board and boxes fighting one another. For this reason, I think it appeals to people who love the imaginative side of Dungeon and Dragons, but many RPG fans will likely find the lack of practically anything boring. After a while, you just realize you’re swapping numbers, with a team eventually winning or losing.

To put it simply, Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles is in an odd place. The story covers what it needs to, giving it enough content to fill complete for fans and newcomers alike, it just feels hollow.

As a huge fan of Disgaea, I’m simply disappointed in the direction Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny took. It went from a charming RPG that had larger than life bosses with equally impressive stats to numbers so inflated it’s legitimately hard to know what exactly your stats are. Add in auto play that will literally grind while you sleep, various mechanics that make the mechanics irrelevant and it’s literally just a pointless grind until the next pointless grind. For some that might be fun, but that simply isn’t what Disgaea is for me.

I would be hard-pressed to say Doom Eternal: The Ancient Gods – Part Two was a bad experience. It honestly made me appreciate Doom Eternal's desire to make every weapon have some kind of purpose, be it destroying armor or instantly blowing up an enemy, but the conclusion is a mixed bag. At most it makes the seemingly endless waves of demons seem manageable and Doomguy legitimately feels like the killer the story suggests he is, it just doesn't stick to landing. It doesn't add much of a new experience and one the conclusion hurts more than it helps. I don't think anyone will dislike Doom Eternal: The Ancient Gods – Part Two, though I also don't think anyone will be blown away by it either.

In so many ways I want to like Mad Rat Dead. It has an art style I love and the music is so good I legitimately want the OST, it just isn't fun. Most stages come down to trial and error, to the point where you basically need a practice run before doing a real one. People more in-tune with the concept will do better but for most, it can be frustrating. I still think there is a good enough game to warrant visiting and enough side content to get past those hurdles, there is just no denying these shortcomings prevent Mad Rat Dead from being as enjoyable as it could be.

Enjoying Keepers of the Void comes down to what you like about Darksiders III. It's almost entirely puzzles, most of which rehash the same concept of moving blocks to progress. This can make it rather bland, assuming you want more variety. However, given you're getting a fairly large area to explore, new weapons and even some additional story content, there is enough here to see the value in it. At least beyond what The Crucible offered.
