The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is an interesting game, visually very well done. It’s definitely quite brutal when it comes to killing the survivors. I like that the game allows players to communicate with each other. The problem for me personally, however, is its high price and the imbalance between the family (which clearly has the upper hand) and the victims. I definitely appreciate the concept, the execution, and the inspiration drawn from the movie that the developers tried to bring to the game. However, I’m not sure if that will be enough to keep the game from slowly dying out in a few months, just like Friday the 13th: The Game.

4 / 10.0 - Liberté
Dec 10, 2023

The game Liberté has a good concept and premise. Unfortunately, after playing for a few hours, it becomes repetitive and feels like it’s on a loop. I felt a bit like I was in the movie Groundhog Day. The game feels unfinished to me and is full of technical issues. I hope the developers at Superstatic will release a patch to fix these issues and add some extra maps. For me personally, the game is quite a disappointment.

Dec 8, 2023

If I had to sum up this unconventional installment, I’d have to say I’m thrilled. The game is entertaining, whether it’s the conversations between characters or the tactical battles. I’m not a Persona expert—I’m personally more familiar with the Disgaea series—so tactical battles weren’t entirely new to me. I can say that even complete beginners can handle it without any problems on the lower difficulty settings. The game isn’t very long; it’ll take you around thirty hours to finish. Plus, the music is the icing on the cake. The only things I’d criticize about this title are the limited variety of enemies (the fact that they just change their outfits doesn’t count as variety) and the price of the game. It definitely could be a euro or so cheaper.

7 / 10.0 - Dark Envoy
Dec 3, 2023

As far as I’m concerned, Dark Envoy is a very well-made game. It offers countless ways to make decisions and steer the story in different directions. There’s a pretty nice selection of characters and classes. This lets you build a party that perfectly matches your preferences and needs. Add to that the beautiful graphics for both the environments and the characters. Throw in a bit of humor between the siblings, and you’ve got at least twenty hours of entertainment—which isn’t bad at all. Even so, there’s definitely room for improvement, and I firmly believe that the developers at Event Horizon will do something about it.

To me, Noel the Mortal Fate is more of an interactive anime focused on storytelling than a game per se. The whole thing feels like a classic anime. It features the power of friendship, comically awkward conversations between Noel and Caron (she constantly calls him a “bird” because of his raven-like head), enemies who eventually become our allies, and so on. As an anime lover, I definitely enjoyed it. Each season brings new information, characters, a major battle, and an unexpected twist. If you’re also a big fan of anime games, definitely don’t hesitate—go all in on this game.

If you enjoyed the first game, you should definitely play the second one as well. If you haven’t played this game yet, try the first one first and then decide whether to buy Forgive Me Father 2. If you’re a fan of Lovecraft and shooters like *Doom*, you’ll have a blast here—at least for a few hours. The game is colorful, entertaining, dark, and horror-filled. So let’s dive back into the world of madness together and see what the developers have in store for us in the future. It’s sure to be worth it.

4 / 10.0 - Unholy
Nov 2, 2023

To me, Unholy is definitely not a horror game. Although the setting looks great, neither the story nor the atmosphere managed to draw me into the plot. The main character is kind of bland, and on top of that, there’s the glitchy environment, cutscenes, stealth mechanics, poor optimization, and more. The game could have great potential if it were polished to the same degree as its environment.

7 / 10.0 - PAW Patrol World
Oct 26, 2023

I definitely think that kids and Paw Patrol fans will be incredibly excited. The beautifully designed locations and characters, the freedom to move around the world, and the large number of tasks will definitely keep them entertained for several long hours. Older kids, however, might start to get a little bored after a while. I personally liked the game, but the voice acting and camera work really got on my nerves at times. It would be great if the developers added Czech subtitles.

8 / 10.0 - BOOK OF HOURS
Oct 15, 2023

I have to admit that the game was a bit of a challenge for me at first, until I figured out how the mechanics and cards worked overall. Since I love the Lovecraftian universe and books in general, I ended up really enjoying Book of Hours. Figuring out new recipes and discovering new books kept me engrossed for hours at a time. If you liked Cultist Simulator, you definitely shouldn’t overlook this title either.

The story of Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical itself, as well as its characters, are superbly written. You can immediately form a connection with them—whether positive or negative—which, of course, changes as the game progresses based on the information you uncover. Although the game may seem quite fantastical, it tackles serious life themes such as death and survival, as well as the anxiety, depression, and fears of some of the characters. Everyone will find a song here that they’ll never be able to get out of their head. The voice acting is amazing and breathes life into the characters. Add in some romance and multiple possible endings, and you’ve got entertainment for a few days. I definitely recommend giving this game a try—it’s not just some run-of-the-mill visual novel.

8 / 10.0 - Ad Infinitum
Sep 28, 2023

I have to say, Ad Infinitum really surprised me. A horror game set in the trenches of World War I is something incredibly intriguing. It reminded me of an old classic called NecroVision. What scared me the most in the game were my own footsteps and the wind howling through the trenches. Sometimes I’d hum along to the record player to help me push through Paul’s nightmares. A few of the great jump scares nearly gave me a heart attack. I definitely recommend this original game to you.

7.5 / 10.0 - Red Line
Sep 3, 2023

Red Line by Rolling Cat Studio definitely offers a unique blend of horror, puzzle-solving, and storytelling. If you prefer atmospheric experiences and story-driven gameplay, this game is perfect for you, so don’t hesitate to give it a try. Personally, I was really drawn to this psychological horror game with its immersive narrative and beautiful pixel art, which is why I’m more than happy to recommend it to others.

6 / 10.0 - Pets Hotel
Aug 30, 2023

Pets Hotel definitely has potential, but for me personally, it feels slower-paced than other simulation games. Add to that a lengthy tutorial and repetitive challenges, and after a few hours, you’ll surely start to get bored, just like I did. Unfortunately, not even the cute animal animations can save the game. It would definitely benefit from a story mode, because otherwise it will only keep you entertained for a weekend or two.

Lunacy: Saint Rhodes is an enjoyable short horror game with a chilling story about one unfortunate family. The game offers two different endings, so you have the chance to find all the diary entries and photos of the Rhodes family members. I definitely recommend this game for its graphics and sound design, its story, and some truly terrifying jump scares. If you enjoy horror games, puzzles, and mysterious stories, you definitely shouldn’t miss this title.

The Bookwalker: Thief of Tales features absolutely enchanting worlds brimming with stories, characters, and all sorts of details. I definitely enjoyed exploring everything right through to the end. Of course, I could have used a few more books, so I’m hoping the developers will release some DLC. If you love books with stories that pull you in, this game is made just for you.

The game Testament: The Order of High Human has several strengths, such as its visual design, animation, and puzzles. These aspects are executed beautifully, but then flaws begin to emerge that are hard to overlook. Close-quarters combat with a sword is quite frustrating, and the AI literally does whatever it wants, whenever it wants. It’s definitely worth a try for fans of the genre, but this game certainly deserves some further tweaks.

7 / 10.0 - Hotel Renovator
Jul 18, 2023

If you're a fan of simulation, building, and cleaning games—such as House Flipper—you're sure to enjoy Hotel Renovator as well. The game is definitely a relaxing experience where you can enjoy the process of demolition, tearing things down, and subsequent renovation. Hotel Renovator is engaging enough to keep you entertained for several hours and distract you from the real chores at home. Don’t be afraid to let your imagination run wild, and feel free to draw inspiration from others’ creations as you build your own unique hotel.

8.5 / 10.0 - Lords & Villeins
Jul 17, 2023

Lords and Villeins is a pixel art game that’s highly addictive, even for new players. Although I’m not a big fan of this genre, I really appreciated the clear and concise help section, where everything is explained perfectly. If you enjoy building cities, you’ll undoubtedly love this game.

The remake of Pocket Mirror: GoldenerTraum is an absolutely enchanting and breathtaking horror JRPG released this year. Each character infuses the world around them with their own personality. It’s all complemented by a perfect soundtrack and a mysterious story hidden between the lines. What more could you ask for? If you’re familiar with the original version and love it, you’ll absolutely adore this one.

4 / 10.0 - Shame Legacy
Jul 16, 2023

Shame Legacy has a decent setting, but its stealth mechanics are quite frustrating, and its content bears a striking resemblance to other horror titles (and not just a few). It’s a below-average offering for the price. In my humble opinion, the game needs several fixes and improvements. For now, it remains a poor horror experience for me, which is a shame.
