Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series is a cinematic, interactive experience that lets you step inside a galaxy far, far away into the role of a smuggler operating near Mustafar, the fiery planet that Darth Vader calls home. You’ll find yourself in a grand adventure where you can hone your lightsaber skills, navigate dangers, and come face to face with Vader himself. In Episode I, you’ll meet new characters including your droid co-pilot Z0-E3, wield a lightsaber, and traverse Vader’s fortress to find out what he’s searching for. In Episode II, with the fearsome Sith Lord as your guide, you’ll battle terrifying creatures and uncover ancient secrets beneath the planet's surface and learn to master the Force. In Episode III, with the fate of Mustafar in your hands, you will need to take everything you've learned along the way to face off in a final confrontation. Each episode comes with a Lightsaber Dojo, an open-ended training mode where you can hone your skills with the weapon of a Jedi Knight and unlock different lightsaber hilts.

An inferior experience to PC and Oculus, not in terms of graphics but the frustrating PlayStation Move controllers that make wielding a lightsaber more a pain than a pleasure.

For a short time we feel like a true Jedi, with immersive lightsaber combat mechanics, use of the Force and great locations and characters. But Vader Immortal ends too soon, more like an experience than a complete game.

A small story that serves well to introduce new users to the world of virtual reality, but the experience of Vader Immortal is unfortunately very limited and gives very little reason for a new game, after having reached the end credits.

Being able to wield a lightsaber and deflect laser blasts, or pull a Stormtrooper up close to skewer them, carries an appropriate amount of weight, and there are many moments where the trappings of VR fade away, and you feel completely integrated into the Star Wars universe. These transcendent moments are many, and when this experience is firing on all cylinders, it’s truly special.
