Worm Jazz Reviews
Worm Jazz is a simple puzzle game with a laid back Jazz attitude, perfect for engaging your brain with as little added stress as possible
Worm Jazz is one of the best puzzlers I've played in a long while. It's intelligent, smooth, stars a hat-wearing worm and features a chilled jazz soundtrack. Nice.
I enjoyed playing Worm Jazz, but it's not a game I'm eager to return to. It has some fun levels but it's lacking in variety. If you want a fun, laid-back puzzle game it's not bad at all but, unlike some worms, I wasn't hooked.
Worm Jazz isn't an ambitious or largescale title. There's not a large amount of levels, there's no story or context to the gameplay, and there's only a handful of different mechanics, overall. However, it still succeeds in what it sets out to do; the levels are delightfully fun to squirm through, collecting everything requires some real puzzle expertise, and, most of all, the jazz score is simply entrancing. For its price, Worm Jazz on Nintendo Switch is very good value for fans of the puzzle genre, or for anyone seeking a relaxing way to spend a few hours.
If you’re looking for a puzzle game that is equal parts relaxing and challenging, Worm Jazz is a great choice. It doesn’t bend over backwards to reinvent the wheel, instead opting to be a straightforward, fun puzzler with no fluff. What it lacks in extra modes, Worm Jazz more than compensates for with well-designed, brain-teasing levels. Some solutions might be unintentionally too obscure in their solutions, but it’s a rare distraction. For the vast majority of the time it is a joy going from maze to maze and aiming for the top score. It’s an oddball name and concept, but Worm Jazz is the sort of idea that only works in the world of video games and makes the industry all the better for being here.
Worm Jazz is a clever puzzle game that can get challenging as you work your way through the levels, but it's so forgiving that it mainly just wants you to sit back, relax and listen to some smooth jazz.
Nice puzzle game with Snake and Bomberman elements for clever players.
