One of the best soccer games you can find on consoles.

Football Manager 2021 is another great entry into the franchise, with minor improvements from last year coupled with some major changes. The immersion and depth make for a rewarding experience.

Football Manager 2021 has done something that great managers do: it has acknowledged its weaknesses and improved upon them without completely rocking the boat. It still feels truly familiar as a Football Manager game, but the overhaul to expectations and communication makes for a more coherent and impactful experience. There’s more of a focus on what you say and do in your role as a manager and, over seasons, your performance is better judged. It makes a real difference to how the game can play out. The matchday experience may not be massively improved, but the improved focus elsewhere makes a real difference. For anyone who truly likes to get into the role of manager, Football Manager 2021 is a must.

Sports Interactive has created, again, a great product, Football Manager 2021 is without a shadow of a doubt even more realistic than what we saw in previous years. The game is long-lived, addictive and full of challenges, but it also knows how to adapt to the type of player in front of it; the user can in fact decide what to do and what not to do. Also this year lovers of the genre and the series will not be able to miss the new annual appointment with Football Manager 2021.

Football Manager 2021 will not disappoint anyone - neither those who try it for the first time, nor the ones that are faithful to the title every year.

Although Football Manager 21 isn't as in-depth on Xbox Series X as it is on PC, it manages to provide a fun and engaging management simulator that has been sorely missing from consoles for some time.

There is no doubt Football Manager 2021 is a great game. If you’re new to it, you need to prepare to sit down and get ready for the long haul. But pay those dues, and you will be richly rewarded by the immersive world Sega has so lovingly created.

Football Manager 2021 does not try to innovate the classic and well-established formula now reached with the last chapters of the series but makes some small changes that are not particularly relevant. As always, fans of the series will have a disproportionate amount of hours in their hands with the possibility of bringing their favorite team to the roof of international stages.

A noticeable improvement over last year's installment. Football Manager 2021 addresses many of my personal peeves with the series whilst keeping the core design philosophy of the franchise intact. However, it is lacking a little in the way of new game-changing features and the few added haven't been implemented too well.

It may not be perfect, with a control scheme that’s functional but still a little too clunky, and it’s almost impossible to recommend to anyone who owns a capable PC. However, if you only own an Xbox, all of the main features are there, the match engine is better than ever and it’s a great title to dip in and out of for 30 minutes at a time.

It's an improvement over Football Manager 2020, but even so, it might be difficult to justify an upgrade to Football Manager 2021 except for dedicated fans who are willing to shell out, even if it only means minor additions and upgrades in the grand scope of the franchise.

New tricks will make the headlines, but Sports Interactive's best move is to breathe new life into the brilliance that's already there.

I’m still working my way through my first season at the helm of the semi-pro Bath City FC (a team I’ve chosen as a way to connect with my coworkers in PCGamesN’s hometown), and so there’s still more I’d like to see before assigning a score – particularly, the initial patch that updates the beta build I’ve been playing. But my impressions of Football Manager 2021 so far are largely positive. This is a clear step forward over last year’s edition, even if some of its new ideas don’t completely work.
