Hood: Outlaws & Legends Reviews
Hood: Outlaws & Legends is a multiplayer title with good potential, but it doesn't manage to express all its qualities in the right way. The excellent level design and artistic component end up being overshadowed by technical problems, a lack of content and, above all, a limited and unbalanced matchmaking system.

Hood: Outlaw & Legends (Hood) is a team-based third-person shooter game in which two teams of 4 outlaws compete to be the first to extract the chest. NPCs are responsible for protecting the chest, you can sneak around them or fight your way in. TO EXTRACT THE CHEST you got to do 4 things: steal the vault key, open the vault, carry the chest to an extraction point, and winch! Between those simple tasks, there will be a lot of blood spilling, arrows flying, and alarms. Find the outlaw that best fits your gameplay style and level him up to unlock perks, weapons, and clothing. No need to say, teamwork and good communication are crucial for victory. BIG DISCLAIMER: Hood feels more like an Early Access game than a full release. It has only 4 outlaws to pick from, 1 game mode, some crazy bugs, and no ranking system, something essential to any multiplayer competitive game. As it has been marketed as a full-release game, it would be smart to set your expectations to an Early Access version instead.
Hood: Outlaws & Legends has a fairly enjoy core gameplay loop that kept me entertained as I fought for loot and glory, but the scope is limited and the premise won’t be for everyone.
A fun new take on the concept of “team deathmatch”, Hood: Outlaws and Legends is a blast to get into it. However, with one game mode and promised roadmap content down the line, it’s a lot to ask players to buy into on faith in later additions.
It would be nice to see more maps, characters, and some fine-tuning down the line; but for now; the game offers a pleasant enough distraction.
Hood: Outlaw and Legends is a multi-play game with a unique design, but lacks completeness in everything else. And that unique design is not very interesting too.

When played with friends, Hood: Outlaws & Legends is a whole lot of fun. When played with strangers, it’s just a bit tedious and dull. It really is a multiplayer game that demands strategy and player coordination and, when played right, it can really make for a thrilling experience. If you end up with players who don’t want to chat and just do their own thing, though? Expect to be left frustrated. The lack of content doesn’t help either, with the one game mode and five maps growing repetitive the more you play. It’s clear that there’s Hood: Outlaws & Legends is doing something right (I can vouch for that with the fun I’ve had with friends), but it does lack that special *something* right now. With the right amount of support and content though, I can see it being a game I’ll come back to again… well… as long as my teammates are willing to communicate with me, that is.
When everything works the way it's supposed to, the harder fought wins come from precision teamwork and communication, which can be exhilarating, tense, and lead to some rather loud celebratory victories.
Hood: Outlaws & Legends is a breath of fresh air in the multiplayer arena, offering an interesting mix of PvP and cooperative action that is only let down by a few unbalanced mechanics that could have used an extra polish pass.
