Critic Reviews for #Drive

Overall, #Drive is one of those feel-good runners where you just have to lose yourself to the gameplay and have a good time. Available now on the Nintendo Switch for $12.99 and available later on for android systems. My son and I enjoyed this title and we will continue to enjoy it trying to beat each other's records.

#DRIVE obviously won’t scratch the same itch that a fully-featured racing game will, but if you’re looking for something to waste some time with, there’s fun to be had here. For an endless runner game, #DRIVE offers a reasonable amount of depth, and unlocking all the locations and vehicles is reason enough to keep coming back, 10 minutes at a time.

#Drive might suffer from a few technical issues, but its gameplay loop is on point. Its controls are a perfect mix between simplistic and complex. It’s slick, stylish, and full of content. It knows how to reward players with a slow-paced, yet very rewarding progression system.

#DRIVE is a good choice for short play sessions. It is interesting and relaxing to drive endlessly through the game world, mainly because of the great visuals and the simple mechanics. In addition, there are lots of cars to unlock and the photography mode is a good option for recording interesting moments. However, the legacy of being an originally mobile title weighs heavily on the need for grind, too many similar stages and imprecise controls. In the end, #DRIVE offers some fun, but it is not memorable at all .

It has both its calm and frustrating moments, but when it looks as stylish as it does, you can’t hold it against it. A mobile-runner without the trappings, it compliments the Switch perfectly. Kick back, keep your eyes peeled, and just #Drive.

#DRIVE is a motivating game with a lot to unlock. A bit more variety in the scenery would have been good but other from that, the game keeps being fun for quite a while.

While the Switch is still criminally under-represented when it comes to racing games genre fans shouldn't leap at #DRIVE thinking it'll slake their thirst for a game from that genre...
