The game highlights the problems of a struggling family, in which one person has given up, and another tries to correct mistakes of the past. The main characters are Mary and her son Andrew. After the death of her husband, Mary married for a second time, to Oliver, in an attempt to create a full-fledged family for her son. But everyday, problems consume the new husband and he finds his solace in alcohol. Soon, they find domestic violence becomes commonplace. Mary's patience and inaction, so habitual and convenient for everyone but little Andrew, brings the life of their family to an extreme point - a point where she needs to make a bold decision.

Little Kite Critic Reviews

Little Kite’s powerful portrayal of domestic violence is going to stay with me for a long time. Although the imagery was intense and the music divine, the point and click mechanics were frustrating for the console — as is unfortunately par for the course when it comes to this hardware and genre combination.

Recommending Little Kite is not easy at all. That is, it is a play that everyone should play to realize that our lives, no matter how bloody they may seem, can turn upside down in a minute and get us into a well from which it is very difficult to get out. But just because it's something everyone should play doesn't mean that doing it is comfortable to experience. Gender-based violence, abandonment or abuse are unfortunately present issues in our reality and therefore it is necessary to deal with them in a direct way without the need for cover-ups, without hot cloths and that is how Little Kite does it. A tough game that everyone should play.

It certainly is not one of the games that easily fit into a wishlist, but that does not mean that it is a negligible amount.

I enjoyed my time with Little Kite, a short point-and-click adventure with themes that touched my heart. I felt for Mary and Andrew's situation. The art style lent itself to the game and made for a beautiful visual tale.
