Critic Reviews for BATS: Bloodsucker Anti-Terror Squad

As such B.A.T.S. is a bit of a mixed bag. Its presentation is fantastic, with well-devised sprite work and a strong sense of humor throughout, and when the game does flow at the speed it needs it is an awful lot of fun for its short run time. However, those awkward design choices and more difficult technical issues do hold it back from reaching its full potential.

BATS: Bloodsucker Anti-Terror Squad is fun. It has great humour, doesn't take itself too seriously, and has some great homages to several franchises all whilst cracking a joke or two at their expense. Its gameplay is fine, and I think with a little bit of TLC to tighten the controls and fixing of the blood drops, it would turn BATS from a good game to a great one.

BATS is a basic 2D action game with some solid vampire puns. Not much to see here, but it's mostly alright.

B.A.T.S.: Bloodsucker Anti-Terror Squad is a fun game, but extremely limited. The joke behind the concept wears out very fast, but the gameplay sustains itself through its short duration, even if there's nothing else to do after finishing the campaign.

For fast-paced arcade-style 2D action, BATS: Bloodsucker Anti-Terror Squad offers a solid formula that provides a decent challenge.

There is a specific kind of public who will love BATS: Bloodsucking Anti-Terrorist Squad thanks to its challenge considering how popular speedrunning has been, and the same can be said for retro games enthusiasts. However, generally speaking, its repetitiveness along with its small content make it not as exciting as the great action title it could have been.

A side-scrolling action platformer where you play as a member of a squad of vampires, ripping through stages and enemies on the way to tough boss fights? It makes for quite the elevator pitch...

Frantic and fun, BATS: Bloodsucker Anti-Terror Squad is an arcade platformer focused on intensity and violence. Despite its issues, mostly related to its short duration, this bloody and explosive adventure shows that good vampires not only exist but can also be unstoppable when united — just like the steadfast BATS squad.
