Critic Reviews for My Singing Monsters Playground

If you enjoy party games but aren't too keen on the board game mechanic seen in titles like Mario Party Superstars, then My Singing Monsters Playground offers up a more streamlined experience that focuses purely on the minigames themselves, which might prove perfect for families with younger gamers. If you're looking for a meatier experience, however, the lack of any overarching campaign harms the game's overall longevity. Frame rate struggles in some of the more chaotic minigames, but for the most part, developer Big Blue Bubble has cooked up a nice addition to the party genre here.

My Singing Monsters Playground is fun but short.

My Singing Monsters Playground is here to compete with the Mario Party franchise. Though the game features great ways to include the whole family, the game is still quite small, meaning it may not be viable long term.

Less singing and more minigames... a bit of fun for the whole family.

My Singing Monsters: Playground is a decent party game that feels suited to a game night for players of all skill levels. It may also particularly appeal to its fan base from the mobile platform. But once the party is over the game doesn’t have a lot going for it and that has always been the main niggle of these party-style games. I will give the game this though, when the monsters did start to sing at the end of a tournament it did bring a smile to my face. That’s gotta count for something.

With release timing that isn't ideal in such close proximity to the latest Mario Party, and having been let down by many titles attempting to steal even a sliver of its oxygen, Playground is actually a pleasant surprise...

My Singing Monsters is a popular mobile game focused on collecting monsters that when put together, make a lovely melody. When I heard they were making the spin-off party game, My Singing Monsters Playground, I was incredibly intrigued. I was looking forward to traditional party game features enhanced by the innovative and unique music that I enjoyed listening to in the original title. Does My Singing Monsters Playground deserve a standing ovation? Or did I leave early? Find out in this Rapid Review.
