The Iron Oath Reviews
Overall, I’m excited to see how The Iron Oath develops; Curious Panda Games has already laid out a road map throughout 2022 leading to an eventual full release that includes a new class, more points of interest, and more quests. For now, I’m having a lot of fun with the current build — my mercenaries, on the other hand, probably have some complaints with my management style.
The Iron Oath is a tactical RPG with distinct classes, good combat and fun missions. If the developers can flesh this out and lean into the differences it could really stand out.
I plan to spend a lot more time with The Iron Oath. In fact, it gets a rare stamp of honor. Even fantastic games can grow old once you’ve played and reviewed it. With The Iron Oath, there’s still so much more for me to learn and see. In fact, I think it’s going to remain installed on my PC for a long while. I can’t foresee another game coming for the merc management throne for a long time.
Without a load of graphical bells and whistles in the way, there's a clarity and streamlined nature to the game that lets the dynamic world and combat system leap to the fore. Give this one a try, you won't regret it.
The Iron Oath is a good game and a great entry into the turn-based strategy genre. Despite the need to manage resources such as mercenaries and funds, the game never becomes too overwhelming, even with more intense difficulties. Though admittedly, it still suffers from some of the faults of its inspirations, it still builds upon the mechanics. The game is easy to get into and hard to put down, and while it’s no Baldur’s Gate 3, it’s certainly worth your time.
The Iron Oath presents a challenging and strategic approach, appealing to tactical RPG aficionados with its depth and complexity. Its focus on managing a group of mercenaries and tactical battles offers an immersive experience, in which each decision carries significant weight. For those who enjoy strategic challenges and are willing to delve into a complex universe of choices and battles with always unpredictable results, The Iron Oath offers a journey full of challenges and rewards.
