Critic Reviews for The Pinball Wizard
It's a shame because the idea of The Pinball Wizard is neat, but the execution and longevity make it a game that faded away before it got truly interesting. Maybe it's worth it for the cute visuals, but even that doesn't stave off the lack of variety.
I enjoyed my time with The Pinball Wizard but it's certainly lacking when it comes to variety and excitement. If you decide to play it, keep in mind that it's best to play it as a game to relax with and not as some sort of skill-testing challenge.
This chaotic gameplay and a really simple yet neat RPG progression system, where you’re given the opportunity to level up skills and increase stats like HP and attack, are what make The Pinball Wizard more entertaining and replayable than it should be.
The Pinball Wizard tries to offer a unique interpretation of the classic arcade, but fails with its limited and problematic execution. Moving the mage with the help of flippers is intuitive, however the stages are uninteresting, the variety of content is very limited and the difficulty is unbalanced. In the end, this mix of pinball and dungeon crawler didn't stick and is completely forgettable.

The Pinball Wizard is enjoyable for quick blasts and in-between action. It has an enjoyable progression based hook and paces itself well with increased difficulty and fun skillsets to unlock. Enemy and environment variety is limited, though, and from a content point of view the game could benefit with a bit more of everything to fill out the experience, especially to match the amount of skills you have on offer.
The Pinball Wizard is one of those games that are based on really interesting ideas, but that are more interesting as a concept than as a game.
