After a promising start, Light's simplistic take on stealth quickly plateaus and then abruptly stops, falling well short of its potential.

Light should be better than it is, but it was doomed from the start. Very few great stories have come from such an uninspired setting, and hiding all empathy and humanity behind a haughty desire for a slick minimalism doesn't help. Light is admirable insofar as its visuals and music create a sharp world with a brilliant artificiality about it. That works, in a way, with its narrative, but it can't stop the whole thing from being just plain boring. You go where you're told and do what you're told even while you're told that the thing you want most is your own freedom. It doesn't make sense on any level.

Light appears to stick with the bare minimum at first glance, but the slick presentation, stylized visuals and memorable music come together to create a fun and pure stealth action game. While it is a bit on the short and easy side, there's incentive to revisit levels in order to learn more effective and efficient means of completing them.

The developers have managed to create a fine balance between the length and the difficulty, and they have produced a compelling game that everyone should experience at least once.

There's nothing wrong with a concise game that delivers a targeted and fun experience—just don't expect to be blown away.

Light has great ideas but fails to use them in any meaningful way or make any lasting impression - it's like the setup to a great game that never comes. Shame.

I can’t help but give Light a recommendation, but only a tentative one. It does so much so well, from the style of the levels, to the relaxed electro soundtrack, to the simple but effective mechanics, I just wish there was more of it. Much more of it. I can only hope there are some planned level packs in future or, even better, a user-friendly level editor to give it some longevity. Excellent quality, very little quantity.

Light is a decent demonstration of stealth done on a smaller scale. The minimalist approach is novel, and the bare-bones stealth mechanic can be refreshing to those entering the genre for the first time. However, those who are more familiar with stealth titles will find the mechanics to be too simple, and the brevity of the entire game makes the $12.99 price tag seem absurd, especially when the levels and item locations are static. If the developer's promise of adding more levels for free pans out and there's a plethora to choose from, then it could be worth it. As it stands now, Light is a very hard game to recommend.

The classes will determine the abilities you can use on the ships and on ground combat. Halcyon 6: Lightspeed Edition is a great space based strategy game!

Having run through the Light in under an hour, I'm rather surprised I've even managed to even write this much about a game that's nothing if not hollow.
