The Creepy Syndrome
Critic Reviews for The Creepy Syndrome
This anthology of adventure-esque stories is varied, and perhaps creepy, but not necessarily satisfying
The Creepy Syndrome is an ambitious little game, plagued by amateurish writing and cheap jump scares that at best won’t satisfy horror fans and at worse will annoy them. Half of the game’s anthology of stories is held back by the other, and the two decent stories aren’t strong enough to make up for the weaker ones.
The Creepy Syndrome is not creepy and features no syndromes. It is a low-budget horror title that relies entirely on jump scares and stilted, cliché-filled writing. If you skip the dialogue and get a strategy video you can get an easy 1000g out of it in an hour or two, but you will not have an enjoyable time while doing so.
Overall, The Creepy Syndrome has been a suggestive proposal of horror anthology that bets on experimenting with its narrative, artistic and playable themes, although unfortunately the lack of a more powerful common thread takes its toll.
