Critic Reviews for Kao the Kangaroo: Bend the Roo'les

Given the price point of this DLC, it's definitely worth the admission cost, particularly if you enjoyed the base game. So all in all Kao the Kangaroo Bend the Roo'les DLC is fun a hop back to this gaming universe with our Macropodidae hero that looks and plays well on the Xbox Series X.

The Bend the Roo'les DLC features five levels with varying mechanics and a demanding new boss, but the recycling of the base game's presentation makes it feel like more of the same in a reduced package when compared to the content of each world of Kao the Kangaroo. It's fun content, perfectly recommendable for those who enjoyed the main campaign and want more Kao and more challenge, but it won't surprise those who expect the expansion to really reinvent the kangaroo.

Bend the Roo'les is still a nice addition to Kao the Kangaroo, but as I've said before, it keeps stumbling over basic stuff. For those who don't have the game yet, picking up the full package might be a good idea. Other than that, expansion fails to be a good reason to return to Hopalloo Island.

While it’s true that Bend the Roo’les is a pretty affordable experience and one that’s easier to recommend, it still has its share of problems, both in terms of glitches and bugs, but also in terms of unbalanced game design. But if you still want to take your chances and spend more time in the Kao the Kangaroo universe, you might still find some limited enjoyment here.

With a new coach in his corner, Kao finds more spring in his step and gives a stronger performance than the main title.
