Witchfire enters early access with a bright future ahead of it. While there's certainly some rough edges, The Astronauts has assembled the skeleton of a capable fusion between FPS sensibilities and roguelite punishments, and I'm keen to see how it evolves over time from here.
There are a few kinks to iron out and the nature of early access keeps us from experiencing everything Witchfire has to offer, but so far, Witchfire is a genre-defining accomplishment that’s spooky, rewarding, and well-polished.
Witchfire is a game rife with potential that will hopefully be realized throughout its stint in early access. It has an addictive gameplay loop that makes you attempt at least "one more run" thanks to its fast-paced melding of first-person gunplay and magic. The only real downside right now is the relative lack of content.
The Astronauts are clearly a talented group of developers, as what they’ve created so far in Witchfire is deeply engaging, creative, and unique.
Witchfire is an outstanding mix of roguelike betweeen HADES and Darksouls that lacks more content and have some technical issues that need to be addressed, other than that it's an experience that is fun to play for years to come.

Witchfire is a challenging but fun Rouglike shooter with a bit of a soulslike atmosphere that, while unforgiving, is highly rewarding once you buckle down into your role as a Preyer. While it’s a great game for those who are used to soulslike, it can become increasingly frustrating to those who don’t have the patience to deal with an unforgiving battlefield and an unfortunate downward spiral when you level up too fast.
