Critic Reviews for One Last Breath
Since the game is so short, I still think it’s worth a try. When the game succeeds, it glows, and gameplay feels seamless and interesting. You might bang your head against it a little, but the solutions are always common sense and it feels incredible to work through something on your own. Just be warned that you probably won’t find the game’s ending particularly satisfying, but if you can look past that, One Last Breath does have something to offer.
One Last Breath doesn't do anything to push the boundaries of the genre, but it has some great puzzles and a beautifully haunting world.
One Last Breath is a puzzle platformer with a very good narrative idea and a satisfying realization. Unfortunately the puzzles are very banal and some maps are made with very little care.

One Last Breath is an ambitious game set in an artfully creepy world, with some great ideas in its foundation that unfortunately don't shine through as well as they could in its mechanics or storytelling.
No copycat should be satisfied in reproducing its inspiration without incorporating a visual, aural, story, and/or mechanical nuance alongside it. None of these four categories are met here, so what's left is a ditto platformer that's content with showing yet another hellish landscape after humans are nearly wiped out.
One Last Breath is pretty, occasionally tense, but always slow, and fails to develop its puzzles or narrative in any meaningful way beyond the introductory sequence.
One Last Breath's presentation is terrific but everything else about it is mediocre at best so unless you don't mind dealing with subpar puzzles and are a big fan of immersing yourself in a ruined world taken back by nature, I wouldn't bother with it.
Thanks to One Last Breath’s interest in reviving this sort-of-forgotten subgenre, it was a refresher, at least for me. That doesn’t totally mean One Last Breath was a bit tedious to go to due to the simple puzzles, but hey, it was at least trying to put out an important message.
