Critic Reviews for Radiant Tale -Fanfare!-

Radiant Tale - Fanfare! handles its romance well, but the game leaves me wanting more engagement. I enjoy visual novels, but I hoped for some sort of mini-game or higher narrative stakes. The lack of real friends for Tifalia rings hollow as well, making it difficult to latch onto anyone. Radiant Tale - Fanfare! is a colorful adventure, but one that falls short of delivering a memorable experience.

However, if you take Radiant Tale – Fanfare! as professional-grade fanservice to simply have fun with, it’s difficult to be disappointed with it. After all, as I noted with Radiant Tale, this is one of Idea Factory’s more charming and enjoyable visual novels in recent years, and as the saying goes “a little is good, and more is better!”

Radiant Tale -Fanfare!- is a tough one to give a verdict on. I enjoyed playing the game and liked all the stories it provided us with. But it is difficult to say yes or no based on the price. If you loved and enjoyed the original Radiant Tale or would just like to add the fan disk to the collection, then yeah, I would say go for it. You won’t be disappointed. I should mention, that I fall into the first category, I loved and enjoyed the original. But if you did not love the original game to begin with, then I would advise passing this one because it is a bit too short

Radiant Tale -Fanfare- is a title clearly made for the original game fans. This work expands the narrative and keeps the qualities of Radiant Tale but doesn't manage to go much deeper in the experience. The end product is pleasant but not worth it for players who haven't already fallen for the original's charm.

Radiant Tale -Fanfare- can be described in a single sentence: A game that promised a lot in theory, but in practice, it ended being a fandisk that practically suffers in its executions. There's barely any content compared to the amount it promised, and the translation suffers from inconsistent terminologies that also plagued the original.
