Sword of Convallaria: For this World of Peace is not a game made for me, a person who enjoys a good, story-rich tactical RPG. Not much story there, and I found it confusing, to say the least. There are a lot of moving parts to this one, some of them feel like old-school TRPG traits that I love, and some feel like it's wearing the mask of a TRPG. If this is not made for someone who, by all accounts should enjoy this, then I am unsure who this is made for. Have fun, but be cautious.

Sword of Convallaria has a strong strategy RPG foundation and is a great mobile game. But for PC, there are other games that are better value. The game doesn’t bring anything new to the table with its gameplay. Fortunately, the experience is free and if you are patient, you can unlock several benefits and have fun. However, this is a mobile gacha game at its core and spending money is the only method for quick enhancement. You might aswell save money just buying another strategy RPG outright.

Overall, Sword of Convallaria leaves me torn. On one hand, the stunning artwork, impressive soundtrack and detailed tactical combat are all huge positives that would normally propel the game to a much stronger recommendation. But on the flip side, the time-restricted gameplay, unbalancing gacha aspects and aggressive microtransactions are pretty sizable turn-offs. Perhaps more palatable to experienced mobile gamers than traditional TRPG fans, it irks me that so much potential is buried beneath so many unsavoury pay-to-win mechanics.
